This is a great little MP3 and if you have any problems customer service is amazing!!I bought mine in January and it worked for a couple of days then it randomly went off and wouldn't turn on again. We contacted luoran and told them and within a week I had a new one. This one works great and haven't had any problems with it. There are not very many options for a screen lock only pin and password no pattern or anything else it comes with a lock screen with no password only swipe up and if you change it you can't get it back other than that I am really enjoying it and it is a great mp3 player. When I first bought the device, it wasn't functional at all. I contacted customer support, and they immediately apologized and offered to send a replacement free of charge. The replacement arrived soon after, and worked perfectly. I wanted to get this device because I wanted a good mp3 player with a good solid playlist app that showed the album art, and good bluetooth capabilities. After tons of digging, this was the best one I could find (surprisingly many mp3 players either don't have the capability to show the album art, or don't have a way to search through hundreds of songs beyond just scrolling). So far, so good! It's been a week of using it. I bought it for the purpose of: 1. a color ereader 2. my [own music] player (as in, I bought the music-none of this "this song isn't available right now" junk) 3. uninterrupted listening and reading. 4. I do not want to deplete my phone battery when traveling. 5. Very light weight Dedicated ereaders will not display images correctly or play music correctly- if they even allow external apps to be downloaded. Color ereaders such as the Boox Nova C leave residual images and words on the screen, as well as the Boox Palma, the Pocketbook is a closed device-no apps can be loaded, the Nook Glowlight Plus doesn't have color, and I'M TIRED OF WAITING FOR A COLOR/AUDIO NOOK! I loved their old one from about 15 years ago. I'm not a Kindle device fan, so that's a no.... Rakutens are closed, as well, and lastly, those generic ereaders are terrible. Tablets are heavy especially when they smack you in the head after drifting off to sleep. I have most of my books in the Nook app and a few on the Kindle app. Why I love this MP3 player: I've downloaded 3000+ songs, 6 reading apps from the Play Store, and 900 books between Nook and Kindle on this MP3 player and still plenty of data room left. Within a week of owning it, I have had to charge once and mainly that was because of all the initial downloading and customizing I was doing. Just listening and reading for 6-8 hours has drained the battery maybe 25%, if that. The interface is easy to use. Bluetooth connectivity has remained constant to a pair of BOSE earbuds and BOSE microlink speaker each time I've used those. Sound quality is great, which may be because I'm using BOSE products. BOSE can't be beat. Screen quality, weight and size are perfect for reading. All of the personalization within each reading app are available and work the same as on any other device. As others have stated in their reviews, this player randomly shut down by itself even when not touching it. Of course the option is on "Never" to turn off the player. In some settings you can toggle the notifications OFF, but when you come back in the settings they automatically toggle back to ON. Some bugs still present, need firmware updates for sure. Also annoying thing abut this layer is every time the player shutdowns, the volume level go back to a lower default volume, and if you want to increase the volume to max you have that annoying pop up screen, telling you that it could be dangerous to listen music to a high level. (it might be a state regulation here), but it is annoying for sure. APlayer app when there's a firmware update for this app the pop up screen is in Chinese/English mixed. As I stated above, this player needs firmware update for sure. The random shut down is a big deal breaker for me. I DO NOT recommend this player. Update 1: Seller reached out and tried to resolve the problem with me by sending me a new player, or get a full refund. I opted for the full refund. Dropped the player to a Wholefood store, got my money back the same day. Read more
