So, my wife is a an office supply/writing utensil junkie. She has tried SO many pens. I mean, SO many. Her friend & fellow pen junkie sent her one of these ones in purple. She LOVED it but you can't do everything in purple. So, she ordered the black ones. My wife writes a lot. She makes lists, she makes notes, she sends out cards to everyone all the time, like 125 cards go out at not just Christmas but Valentine's Day, St Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's & Father's Day (well not as many there but about half), Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Christmas. She also has a handwritten calendar for birthdays of basically EVERYONE in the family & sends cards to them for birthdays & anniversaries. She writes things on repeat to remember them like you did as a kid with your spelling words. So, she is constantly writing & goes through pens quickly. These pens last a long time l, which she loves. She allowed me 2 pens from the box for my desk at home & work, & I agree, these pens are nice. They are smooth & the ink looks good. I never noticed that before her, how the ink looks on something until she brought it up, & now I get it. These pens are great. We ordered them in red, purple, & I think green in addition to the black. If they only made pink my wife would die of happiness over the perfect pen. We highly recommend these pens. The ink dries quickly too - very few times in the hundreds of cards she's written has there been a smudge. Never in regular paper but occasionally on the glossiness of the cards if she moved too quickly there might have been a little one but that's okay. I got these pens to test originally. I am kind of a pen junkie and I'm picky about my pens and I get attached to my fav's. These are my new favorites after living with them about a month and half filling a journal with writing with them. They write smooth with a medium line that is gorgeous on the paper. I use these to write my lyrics in a lyrics book. I liked them so much that I purchased a 12 pack in all colors but red, and that one I'll grab next month. The colors are gorgeous. They don't smear and just work so well. When writing super small and concentrating and thus putting more pressure on the pen, there is a bit more friction, but nothing overly bad. Also that feel gives me the proper haptic feedback when I'm writing...I don't like it too smooth...like on glass. I'm just super happy with this pen and have cleared out my extensive supply of pens in my pen holder to hold a couple of each color of these. This is Pentel's replacement for the BL17, which was my favorite pen ever. These are still really nice pens, but not as good as the BL17. They are basically the same, and write just about as effortlessly. But, they are a little less than 1/4" shorter, and the grip area is smaller, which to me, is not as comfortable to hold. And the pen just feels too short to be a pen. Also, when you start using one, the grip area is greasy, so every time I grab a new one, I have to clean it off before I start using it. This is a perfect example of a company feeling the need to improve on something that doesn't need improvement. They are still great pens, way better than Uniball, but the BL17 was better. Read more

I was previously getting the sharpie Gel pens and found the last couple boxes they did not last but a few days before drying out. Since switching to these penal energel I’ve been extremely happy. They right great the current and have yet to have one dry out on me. Very smooth writing pen and ink. Great value for the money I spent on them. I do personally wish they where a push pen but I can get past that. Read more
