Unless using on a gloss or coated paper, it never smudges or smears. (Please note, most smearing/smudging occurs because of the incorrect choice of writing utensil on a “coated paper”. Almost EVERYTHING WILL SMEAR on decorative coated papers. Thus do your research. Do not blame a perfect writing tool for a lack of perfect performance when used as an art tool. Trust me, there are fabulous pens to use on coated papers) . The Pentel will never let you down and writes upside down if required. I love this brand, colors are great and I can buy refills!! However, Ive notice that many pens stop writing halfway through a writing project. The ink will be full but it just wont write. It skips then stops. I’ll have to switch to another pen. I have not experienced that with these multi-colors but I have especially with Navy, Black and dark purple. Read more

I’ve never worked with Beth pens. Honestly, the way that they write, the lack of bleeding from the pens, the amount of pigment that gets put on the page is very satisfactory. You can use with white out and it doesn’t affect how the pen works overall a very vibrant and durable pen. Read more
