I was really excited about this toy because my dogs are very prey-driven. Unexpected movement definitely catches their attention, and they’ve had soft squirrel like toys that moved that they loved. I figured this would make a great addition to their toy stash, but I was wrong. The pros: 1) it has two different play modes and several interesting light patterns you can choose from. 2) the motor and electrical components are all self contained and can be easily removed from the ball to charge. I imagine it’s feasible to put the component in different toys if you could find some way to depress the plunger at the top of the toy. I imagine it works much the same way a washing machine lid does, where it won’t function unless the latch is actually pushed in. 3) I like that this ball doesn’t just go and go and go, which would wear out its charge in no time. If it hasn’t been played with after it comes to a stop it has a 30 second sleep mode, and then it goes again. It will continue doing this until you turn it off. 4) it is very hard, like rock hard, and is more likely to cause damage than be damaged. I wouldn’t toss it around like a tennis ball, but general rolling or tossing on a soft surface doesn’t seem to phase it. The cons: 1) all four of my dogs are small, Shih Tzu’s, Pekingese, and Chihuahuas. They all love to run and chase, shake and disembowel their toys. Unfortunately, the ball is so large and hard that there’s absolutely no way they could get it in their mouth, let alone carry it. I find this especially frustrating because every single dog in the product descriptionis small. I know that they provide the dimensions, 3 1/2 inches in diameter, but this really is not intended for a small dog. 2) another problem is that it’s very noisy, especially on hard flooring, like wood, tile, luxury vinyl, concrete, or laminate. I don’t think my dogs liked the sound of it and kept their distance once they satisfied their curiosity with a bit of sniffing. 3) despite their being two different motions, they both were pretty similar. The ball doesn’t roll so much as jump around a little bit. When I put it on a soft surface like a rug, carpet, or a bed, it just sits there and vibrates and doesn’t really move. That certainly doesn’t catch their attention. Overall, I really think this toy is better suited to a larger dog who likes to play independently with their toys and isn’t bothered by unexpected noises. Just like the product description said, this is definitely not a chew toy. Unless I knew of a dog with very specific likes, I don’t think I would recommend this. Read more

Works pretty well and easy to figure out! I will say that is a bit hard for a dog to pick up due to it's hard shell (I think if it had more of a silicone finish, like a kong, it would be more pup friendly). The automatic motions were fun for our dog, but would be nice if it didn't rely on the dog nudging it first to move around (or if there were different settings), but I understand maybe it's programmed like that for battery optimization. Overall a fun interactive toy for independent play. Read more

My dog absolutely loves this toy! It's quite a clever idea how the ball rolls around giving my pups a challenging game while keeping her busy. The material is nice and even though she tends to chew on her toys she hasn't been able to put a dent into this thing which is great. I'm sure it will last a long time! The battery life has been great and even when it's dead she still enjoys pushing it around with her nose. It's very function in the way it comes apart and even has a rubber seal. You can plug it in and charge it and it cant take a little more than an hour to charge. It does make a lot of noise if you are using it on hardwood or vinyl floors though it works best on hard surfaces instead of long carpet. Overall a great pet toy that keeps your pup occupied for hours and is a great Value! Read more

The media could not be loaded. This ball is so awesome for a younger curious dog. My Yorki is 14lbs and 2 years old. I let this run in the living room while I was cleaning up and she had full attention on it. Seems like a great product for mental stimulation. It’s a little bigger than a tennis ball and the outside is hard but does have some grip on it. It won’t hurt their mouth because it has a device inside that’s shaking. Nothing is turning on the outside. A great dog toy I highly recommend for people who have young dogs and wanna keep them busy. It’s not too loud either. I posted a video. I hope this helps. Read more
