Its unfortunate that I have to give it 1 stars. I purchased this with prior knowledge that it wasn't durable enough for heavy or aggressive chewers but I thought since it was a reasonable price that I'd get my dog a nice little present that he can play with for a few days (he LOVES the sound of plastic crunching). However, when I opened the box and took the ball out, I was taken back by how intense that plastic-y oder was. It was the outer layer that was emitting it and I thought it's probably just that "new" plastic smell. I tried washing it with soap a few times but it did not help in the slighest. I left it by his toy box to let it air out hoping the smell would dissipate (it was intense, and pretty disgusting. Not your average plastic smell). My dog actually got a hold of it when I was in the other room and when I came back he was playing with it. I didn't mind but I really didn't want him playing with something that smelled like chemicals and I took it away from him. After that, I realized the smell had gotten all over his paws and face! It was terrible. I took a wash cloth with mild shampoo and wiped him down but that smell still lingered for almost 2 days! It wasn't only his fur, but whenever I touched the ball, the smell would linger on my fingers as well. So I just threw it out. Good concept, okay price, but terrible product. Read more

My Boston loves these balls. The crackle crunching to her is the best part! Only issue is the inside does not hold up well. Don't know if there is any way of making it hold up better but none the less after one afternoon of play it is all smashed down and no longer makes the enticing noise that pups love so much. She will continue to play with it only if she can not locate any other ball that makes noise. I will continue to get her one every once in awhile only based on the cost. Read more

I cannot say enough about this product, my dog loves them, don't be dismayed with your dog gets down and squishes the plastic ball inside, it gives them a nice crackle in incites chewing, but they are very tough and fun to play fetch with also. The outer part of the ball is pliable which makes it easy for your pooch to grab a hold of without the worry of breaking a tooth, they also come in different sizes to fit your pet. I have several of these and always take one with me when I travel, it gives them a familiar thing they love when in different places. Read more

Although a cute toy, our 14lb terrier mix was able to bite through it and remove the inner crinkle part within the first few hours. From there, he continued to break the outside into smaller pieces. Probably not a good idea for a super chewer. Read more
