PetSmile toothpaste removed heavy gunk from my dogs teeth after daily brushing for about one month. Dog is a rescue about 5 years old. I find that if I gently open the side of the dogs mouth and slip the toothbrush inside, then softly hold his jaws together and brush, it is easier and he tolerates the brushing. Holding his jaws gently together while brushing the sides of his teeth keeps the toothbrush from touching his tongue which was causing him to gag. My dog sits patiently while I brush his teeth every night before bed. Thank you PetSmile for saving my dogs teeth. I never would have believed it if I had not tried this toothpaste. The toothbrush works as described. I especially like the big and small brush. It makes cleaning so much easier. I used to use a large amount of toothpaste however, I realized how quickly I went through the tube while the price was on a higher side. I started to portion it better. My dog wasn’t used to be brushed for the last 14 years but the toothbrush made a difference. He still resists it when he sees the brush but he knows the brushing is inevitable 😅.
