I prefer these rather than a toothbrush for my cat. I think my cat prefers these as well. They are soft and gentle and it’s easy to clean his teeth. I like the reach the swabs have, as well. It makes it easy to clean those back teeth. It helps to use a good toothpaste too. I use the petsmile brand…he loves the rotisserie chicken & roast beef flavors. Read more

I have a British Shorthair. His flat face reduces any space in between his cheeks and teeth. Upon his latest visit, the vet recommended we start brushing due to tartar starting. These are great! We use these to brush all sides. Doesn't pull on his cheeks or cause discomfort or gagging. He handles it well. Best part is you chuck them! No clean up! Read more

This toothpaste for dogs is a bit on the expensive side hence the 4 for a rating. I have seen improvement in my 2 Shelties teeth. I brush both of their teeth every night. It does seem to be helping in removing plaque and tarter. I will continue to use and monitor their progress. I wish it was a little more affordable or that coupons were offered for return customers. It works better than other toothpaste I have tried. Read more

My Baby hates having her teeth brushed. I bought a 360 degree bristles brush supposedly for cats, but it's the size of my index finger - not at all appropriate for a small mouthed animal. It made it impossible to get to her back teeth and under her lips. Plus, I do not like restraining her as it can lead to distrust. These swabs are the perfect answer to our dental care dilemma. They are small enough to ease under her lips, apply the toothpaste to her back teeth, and clean her canines. She also wasn't scared of them when I showed them to her. I use the Pet Smile Rotisserie Chicken toothpaste with the swabs. One more thing: the swab can be gently cleaned in warm water for use the next night. They are not a single use and dispose item! My sister in law has been a vet tech for more than 20 years and she performs dentistries on cats and dogs. She told me when I adopted my Baby that the best thing I can do for her (and my wallet) is brush her teeth regularly and use VOHC endorsed products, like Pet Smile. Read more

I have 2 TINY 13y/o chihuahua mixes. Semi-toothless. I’ve tried so many toothbrushes, even the electric ones and the dogs would not let me brush their teeth. Found these and while they may not work as well as a brush, the dogs let me use these on their teeth and gums. They even chew on it a bit - of course while I’m holding it. Recently went on a a prescription diet for kidney disease. I can’t find dental chews safe for SMALL dogs with kidney disease and since their food is now a mix of can and kibble, it’s even more important to practice good oral hygiene. These have been working great ! Read more

The applicator is long and reaches all over my dog's mouth. I'm sure he preferred it to tooth brush at least. Read more

Not sure if I could have ordered a smaller size for my kitty’s mouth but these are just big Que tips and it’s a little awkward. I think if you’re just starting out your kitty in brushing their teeth this could be a good start. Read more
