I was a little hesitant about buying a refurbished product, but the Philips 1200-Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with Milk Frother (EP1220/04) exceeded my expectations. It looked brand new right out of the box and works flawlessly. The grinder is a bit louder than a regular coffee maker, but that’s totally expected and honestly, it’s a small price to pay for fresh-ground espresso at home. The machine itself is a bit larger than your standard drip coffee maker, but compared to most espresso machines, it’s actually really compact and fits perfectly in my smaller kitchen. It’s super easy to use and the milk frother works great for lattes and cappuccinos. Coffee tastes amazing and it’s so convenient having a café-quality drink in just a few minutes. I have tried several brands including (Cuisinart, GEVi etc.), however nothing comes close to my Philips 1200 series. You can start with a custom dial to coffee beans’ ground and finally brew a tasty fresh coffee spreading aroma in your whole house. In the beginning, you will need to make some adjustments in the setting particularly in grind level, temperature level, and water quantity to brew coffee. Once you find a perfect balance for your coffee beans then with a touch of few buttons, you will get a perfect coffee each and every time consistently. Easy to clean and your coffee is brewed with a filtered water. We are making regular coffee, espresso, mocha, matcha and everything. If I need to buy another coffee machine in future, I will just upgrade to the next level in the same series. Read more

For a whole bean, inexpensive coffee machine, the Philips 1200 works great. it is noisy compared to ones my friends have, but my cost 1/4 of what they paid. The coffee tastes just as good - in this case, it's the bean, not the machine that impacts taste the most. I bought it used and so far it's great. Works excellent. European coffee like a Jura machine at a fraction of the price. No idea on durability but picked up the 4 year replacement warranty as well. Easy to use. It’s about the same loudness as the Jura and others. Easy to set the strength and coffee size. Excellent value. Read more

I have had one of these for years and I was really lazy about cleaning it. Never broke, finally had to take out the inside and clean it. Still works. Recently got a vacation home so bought another one. I had the saeco one and a DeLongi both stopped working after about two years. This one has been very reliable. Makes great coffee. NO PODS! Love it. Update: it’s been a little over a year and this morning when I got up to have my coffee at my vacation home I got all three flashing lights. Couldn’t fix it.. tried everything. So I don’t recommend getting the refurbished. However, I reported it to Amazon and they immediately gave me a refund so Amazon is really good about these things and I just ordered another one..
