The media could not be loaded. I just received these and they are a perfect replacement for standard bulb from my oven hood range; even a tad crisper light. Keep in mind if you read the box label it says it last 13.7 years only if you use it 3 hours a day! So lets do the math. The bulb has 15,000 hour lifespan. So if you leave the light on all night after cooking dinner then thats 8 hours a day so that makes a 5 year lifespan instead. I love how ppl don’t take this into consideration and complain it died after 5 years or sooner. It all how you use the light! Lol. Though the first light did died after 1 hour sometimes u get a dud no biggie. Still need to get a replacement but so is life. :) So if your someone who likes light on in the kitchen after hours it might be better to jist go get a “auto nightlight wall plate” u save money and the bulbs lifespan. I have to see have far this light lasts, traditional bulbs for my oven hood only last 4-6 months. This im hoping with be a big improvement and also since it LED it doesn’t attract bugs!! Big win. Final notes: it seems like great quality only reason i got them, performance is outstanding no flicker at all basically instantly on no delay at all! Value is great since i got it only a blk friday sale. Brightness is as expected. Has a warm color on the lighter side. Read more

As an interior designer, I only specify the Philips Ultra Definition LED bulbs in warm white. The colour is great, but they have a very high CRI that make them excellent to have in your house Read more

I am still getting some flicker when the furnace or a sweeper turns on, but its not constantly all the time like before. The ecosmart bulbs I got from home depot would have a constant subtle flicker that I noticed on several different units and sockets. Also there is sometimes a power on delay of a few seconds which isn't exactly ideal either. So there is some compromise would these. Read more

I wish these weren't so hard to find, because in terms of light quality/color reproduction, these are some of the best bulbs you can buy. I use these in task lamps on my work table, and they put off a very clean, warm light with great color reproduction compared to any equally priced LED on the market. The warm light does not strain my eyes even after hours of working with them shining down onto the table. There are measurements out there if you're keen on searching, but the next best LEDs in terms of color reproduction are around $15-20 per bulb. Yes, $20 for each. These are an absolute steal in comparison and I hope that Philips does not stop selling these any time soon. I have regular (non-clear) 60w and 75w Ultra Definition bulbs throughout my house now, and I finally feel like I've found a decent (but not perfect, nothing will ever be 100% as good as incandescents) replacement for that cozy, warm tungsten glow of an incandescent lightbulb. They also dim exceptionally well for a LED, but like any LED, you can't expect the dimming performance/range of an incandescent. These are a welcome product with the incandescent ban that is coming very soon. Read more

Confirmed with my phone’s slow-mo camera that these do not flicker (for me at least). Can’t comment on the lifespan as I just plugged them in. Read more

Edit: The Topgreener dimmer works! I bought this for use with my IKEA Forsa light (one of the most popular IKEA lamp models, if I'm not mistaken). I love the warm glow effect of this product line of LED Bulbs and was hoping to use it with the ubiquitous Lutron ('credenza'-style) dimmer. I'm hoping for a real cozy lamp endgame here. Unfortunately it doesn't work - the slider makes for a flickery mess. I tried two different Lutron dimmers and two different Philips UD bulbs, and also tested those dimmers against other bulbs, and every other configuration worked (including, oddly, the *previous* generation of Philips Ultra Definition Bulb) and it's clearly, unambiguously these specific Philips bulbs that are the problem. This sent me down a rabbit hole of dimmer compatibility. There's various charts available online (though Philips could do a little more on the online support side of things here). If I'm not mistaken, there's no CREDENZA-style dimmer that's officially compatible with this bulb. This seems like a strange oversight, especially for a bulb whose whole selling point is that it's great at dimming. I'm going to try the "topgreener" dimmer (seemingly the only other nondestructive lamp dimmer available) next, will try and remember to update my review. Read more

Best LED’s I’ve purchased to date for soft, light with a very soothing and pleasant, soft warm glow and excellent, color rendering -feels very natural. The closest I’ve seen to classic incandescent. Changed my whole apartment to different variations available. (except for kitchen and bathroom - 3000k color still feels appropriate there). Philips is def leading the pack when it comes to LED technology. Love it. Read more
