Now, the game itself is amazing. HUGE world with tons of quests and exploration as well as all the CRPG goodies of character interaction, gear, detail, quests and story immersion. Fantastic game made even better with the developer's introducing TURN-BASED combat. Personally, I think all these games should offer the option of turn-based. Its a personal preference that really matters to me as I feel more immersed in the game and makes combat much easier to maneuver. The seller I bought this product form delivered an unused key and everything worked perfectly. Highly recommend this game and if you can get it for the price I did (15.00 U.S.), its a steal!! Before playing I had no large expectations. Although putting 140+hrs into the first Pillars, I stalled out somewhere near what I'm guessing is halfways. I found while plentiful and polished, some of the writing just didn't have the powerful affects of earlier titles like Baldur's Gate, its sequel, Torment and other classics. This sequel in no way suffers from the downfalls of it's original title and somehow Oblivion and Versus Evil have risen, if not equal, then close to the classic cRPGs referenced above in their labor on Pillars II. The addition of a choice to either play in realtime or turn-based in the latest and last major content patch, 5.0, adds a depth often lacking in combat in isometric games. Altogether a new personal favorite in a selective and illustrious list of top cRPGs. Highly recommended. Read more
