Very pleased.

Unknown Soldierβ€”December 25, 2013βœ“ Verified purchase

This product does exactly what it's supposed to do and it does it well. I really like the variable temperature setting so that you can heat things differently as needed. Can't say anything bad about it. Good price too! Read more

So far so good

MaruMaroβ€”May 21, 2014βœ“ Verified purchase

Of the 3 heat guns I've purchased so far, this one is my favorite. I would give it 5 stars, but the low setting did quit on me for a day. However, it started working again after toggling from one setting to another. This heat gun is cheap and it heats up really fast. I already know that I'll go through heat guns fast, so being that it's cheap and reliable is a plus. When one of my other heat guns go out, I'm going to repurchase this one for sure. Read more

Great for Heat Shrink Tubes - Update: took 2 stars back!

CHIRAG CHAUDHARIβ€”December 16, 2014βœ“ Verified purchase

Very handy and must have tool if you are playing with Heat Shrink Tubing. Before buying this I was using my old solder iron or lighter. But with this heat gun, I get best results. Shrinking looks way too professional. Even with some of the cheap heat shrink I have, Heat gun dose nice job. So far had no problem, get very very hot quickly. For my purpose I dont have to run it longer than 30-45 seconds. So I dont have any issues like its plastic body melting or smoke coming out of gun. I am happy with my purchase. Even though its cheap, if you just want to use it for what I am using There is one for only $8.99 at the Harbor Freight Tools. update: 1-11-15 So I dont use this everyday, but last night I was using this to heat shrink several brushless motors 3.5mm connectors. And I ran it for about 45 seconds. Turned it off set it on side. And here I go use it again, the darn Low Heat switch broke. The switch has three positions. ON (LOW) - OFF - ON (HIGH). It would not stay in ON-LOW HEAT position, you have to keep it pressed to make the heatgun work. Which is annoying specially when you want to lay the heat gun running and bring the stuff you want to heat in front of it. Its still working great , not smoke or anything, but the switch just quit working. The High heat side still works but low heat side you have to keep it pressed. Read more

Worked just as expected. Didn't have issues of others had

Matt Ortweinβ€”March 28, 2016βœ“ Verified purchase

I bought this to work on vinyl wrap and to use on shrink wrap. Never had any issues that previous owners had. I had to buy a new one because the wire got sliced open somehow and shorted out after a nice explosion....I also needed a new pair of underpants. Read more

Very Cheap Made in China Garbage

Wayne Scott Wofseyβ€”January 3, 2012βœ“ Verified purchase

My first heat gun died after three days. I recall hearing something rattling upon my initial usage. Eventually a piece of metal fell out & it died. The seller was good enough to replace it & not charge me extra. The seller is clearly not at fault & they handled things well. The second gun arrived within a few days & also died. This time it smoked & I actually saw flames inside. Total uses, on both heat guns, was a mere five times & for short intervals. I tried to find the company name on it & write them, but they managed to hide their name. Only a model number CHIGH0012 & Made in China appears. If anyone else has a company name I'd be interested in knowing it. Next time I'd pay a little more for something better made. Unless I just got a bad batch, cheap equals crap in this case. Read more

Cheap Priced Electric Heat Gun

Dee Adamsβ€”May 27, 2012βœ“ Verified purchase

All good. The pic and the product were one in the same. I use this gun to shrink wrap with and the low setting is perfect for my smaller items. Have use an exact model for over 5 years so will be glad if the new one last half as long. This new gun was a real bargain as I paid twice the price at Big Lots for the first one I had. If you are in need of a handy dandy easy to operate low cost heat gun or anything else ... I recommend Amazon. Beats other sources all to pieces. Read more

Electric heat gun

gam53β€”November 3, 2011βœ“ Verified purchase

Very good for the price I paid. The green plastic housing does not look very rugged a couple bad falls and it might need duct tape to keep it together but that's ok I will just have to be careful not to drop it. It heats up almost instantly when it is switched on. I actually use it to bend and shape PVC pipe. I only used it three times so far and for about ten minutes each time so I cant really say i stress test it as yet. My only concern is that it smokes a bit after switching off the one I used to use before never did this so I am thinking this happens because it is new and needs breaking in Read more

Does the job, get what you pay for

Hugh vaughanβ€”April 11, 2016βœ“ Verified purchase

This is a no frills heat gun with two settings. There's not a lot to write home about here, but if you are looking for a low cost heat gun, this fits the bill. I bought the gun for a specific task I needed to do. I knew I may not use it again so I opted for the lowest price point. Turns out I have used it on other projects, and it works well. Update :: Gun overheated a couple of months after purchase, and failed Read more
