The media could not be loaded. No dog toy is indestructible if you have a hound or a pit. I happen to have a combination of both. This toy is the best $12 you could possibly spend for a dog that likes to “kill” their toys. The only reason I’m buying more is because I keep losing them. My dog is a rescue. She’s half beagle, a quarter boxer, and a quarter pit bull. She’s a tiny fire-cracker and I lover her to pieces. And she loves tennis balls to pieces. Literally. She adores tennis balls, squeaky toys, and food. She will absolutely try to surgically extract the squeaker from any toy she gets because she has a high prey-drive. These balls last usually at least a week before she manages to dislodge the squeaker or puncture the squeaking mechanism, but I still have one I got about six months ago that has the paint worn off and it still squeaks. This ball literally has everything. It squeaks, it bounces pretty high, it looks like a real tennis ball so my girl recognizes them as “toy” immediately, and they smell good. These balls in particular last forever. I got her a can of regular tennis balls and she had them in four pieces within 10 minutes or less, which is not healthy for her because she likes to eat the pieces. For this dog toy, I have never seen her crack it. She’s pushed the squeaker inside of exactly one of them so far, and it stayed inside the ball. Much safer than a toy that she can possibly ingest. The toys come in several colors, but it’s not just to make them look cute and colorful. The colors correspond to flavors, as each of the balls has a different scent. I’ve sniffed them and noticed there’s a mild food smell beneath the rubber scent. I can tell that dogs really do get a kick out of the “flavors.” I’ve taken these to the dog park and all the dogs want the Playology tennis ball, even if we have other generic balls flying around. My dog even has favorites. We have a muscle-head pit bull/staffy mix at the park who is a giant meat-ball. He got his hands on one of these and he wasn’t even able to break it open for at least 20 minutes of deliberate chewing. My girl’s favorite “flavor” for a long time was beef (the red one). The blue “peanut butter” flavor is the easiest one to find in stores. She was obsessed with a purple one for a while, apparently it was bacon flavor. I couldn’t find that one! I saw that Amazon has an orange “cheese” flavor and knew she’d love it. She’s obsessed. I really wanted to leave this review to convince people to invest in this product. Your dog will be so happy, and this company made something great. I’m worried because I went on their website yesterday and they had only one or two colors available. I don’t want them to stop making this amazing toy. I hope they don’t lose business because their product is TOO durable!! If they make more flavors, or maybe make some multi-dog (tug ropes?) or similar, I’ll definitely continue to be a customer. Please keep making these awesome tennis balls! Read more

This is a truly indestructible toy. I have a red one that is 2 years old. The squeaker no longer squeaks, but the ball is still in tact. The ball is soft and squishy, not too hard like some toys meant for chewers. I will not miss the squeaker when if quits. I forgot how much he loves to make that squeak. I have bought many dog toys for "aggressive chewers" that didn't last 15 min. This ball is the real deal. Read more

I was a bit skeptical. We have had NO joy in finding toys for "aggressive" chewers that actually last more than a day for our 1 year old Staffordshire/Pittie mix. He has jaws of iron! (or so it seems) Nothing holds up. He is literally eating them, and subsequently gets them taken away, within 24 to 48 h ours. IF that long. He finds it a challenge to get to the center of whatever toy he has, whether it is supposed to have a center or not! We bought this in April, this is the end of December! Yes, the squeaker is no longer squeaking (a blessing in disguise) but the ball itself is still intact, with no nicks, dings, pieces missing, etc. It still bounces well, and he still loves it! 8 months later, still going strong! I didn't realize it had been that long, until today. So I had to write a review, and buy a couple more Playology Jumbo toys. I hope they hold up 1 tenth as well! Read more

This is the only squeaky ball my pitbull is allowed to have. He destroys most toys in SECONDS, but this toy holds up well! Not 100% indestructible, but still shockingly durable. The squeaker isn’t some plastic piece that he can pull out and eat either. One of the best toys out there. Read more

Update: So my dog turns out to really like this ball. I also have to admit, the build quality is solid. Shows no sign of falling apart from the constant chewing my dog applies. Bumped up to three stars from two because of this, but still, original review remains valid. My dog is a lab/pit mix btw. 2nd update: OK... just so were clear I still don't like how the scent on this isn't that strong. To the one who commented; yes I know that a dog's sense of smell is much stronger than ours, however when I go to the store and smell this exact ball the scent is very obvious, whereas this one had no such scent whatsoever when I first got it. Maybe I got a dud? Anyways, the reason for this update is because, as much as I don't want to admit it, this is a pretty good ball after all... it's tho only ball I've gotten for my dog that has lasted this long - very tough. It's also the only ball my dog will play fetch with now. He ignores everything else when it comes to fetch. Still no 5 stars because of the supposed scent quality control issues and the squeaker, but the bottom line is that the ball has paid for itself more than once in terms of lasting longer than cheaper balls. Even chuckit balls break too often to justify buying a few of those over this one. In other words I was wrong when I said "you'd be better off buying 4 chuckit balls or 6 tennis balls" - you'd be spending more money in the long run (assuming your's lasts as long as mine did). Heck for all I know maybe my dog CAN smell this thing like the commenter said, and that's why he likes it so much. If that's the case maybe I was wrong about that too... I found this at Petco, and was impressed when I smelled it at the store - it did indeed smell like pork/bacon. Bought it on here instead because i had a gift card balance. However, the ball I had delivered to me only smells of rubber. Chewing releases the scent??? My dog has chewed on this thing for hours, and I still smell nothing but rubber. To top it all off, the squeaker broke within the first few hours. The good news is that my dog still likes the ball (he'll play with any ball you throw at him). If this thing was cheaper I would be less harsh with my rating, but for a whole $15, you could almost buy 4 whole chuckit balls which my dog also likes, or 6 penn tennis balls which my dogs absolutely loves. Bought this for the scent and the squeaker... neither aspect pulled through. Read more
