I received my replacement, which was also defective crap!!!! Amazon's customer service on this atem sucked!!!! Do NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. NOT WELL MADE! I wish I haddened bought this thing! It's far from a silent device, because of how the fan opporates. The fan is powered by an electromagnetic, which keeps releasing the fan. When it does, the fan rattles badly! I have removed the fan cover; so I now press the fan back into place. It's livable but NOT worth the cost! This needs to be RE-ENGINEERED. The fan should have been placed on a shaft like other fans. If that were done it would be a great device. It blows out cool mist; but it's just noisy. The fan is very bad! Read more

We are having the worst heat wave in history in California, and since we have no air conditioning in the house, I usually use fans. But then I came across this little device! I just got it yesterday, when the temperature reached 111 degrees! And what a difference from the usual fan! It is a fantastic little air conditioner! It’s not as powerful as a real air conditioner, but it will cool a small room. Just fill the tank with cold tap water (I used water from the fridge), and add some ice cubes. It has 3 settings for mist and 3 settings for the fan. The cold water mist really helps cool the air, unlike a regular fan. My doggies love it! Right now, they’re lying right in front of it. Last night, I set it for 2 hours, and fell asleep in the cool air. When I woke up after about 4 hours, it was completely off. So the timer does work well. You can set it for 1, 2, or 3 hours. There is a light setting too. You can choose among white, yellow, red, green, etc, or no light at all. I absolutely love this air conditioner! Update September 1, 2020: I love using the little pad for the essential oil. Unfortunately, the plastic cover for it broke in half! I haven’t even been using the unit for a month yet, and I’m so careful with everything. I’m so disappointed. I did glue it back with Super Glue. I've tried many different Evaporative misters and this one is by far the BEST personal cooler on the market. First off - no filters to deal with which means no mildew or replacement filter costs. The 5 misters are pointing right at you with no filter obstructions. Second - unit is portable meaning that the unit is light weight with a convenient carrying strap that also has a tank lid with a gasket to prevent spillage when carrying from room to room. I'm not sure why some reviewers are confused by the meaning of 'portable' thinking it has a lithium battery for charging. I suppose one could bring a portable charger to plug in fan if that was desired. However, no where on the item description page does it mention charging. The mister comes with a cable AND a wall plug. Third - This is a personal cooler that has a range of about 2 feet. One can use this on their desk or nightstand. In no way shape or form does this little fan/mister advertise cooling an entire room, thus it's a personal cooler to keep close by to take the heat edge off. Also, some customers mentioned the need for a remote control. No where on the page does it mention providing this. Besides, this mister is ONLY effective from 2-3 feet away from you so a remote is really unnecessary. Fourth - The Fan, The Mister and the LED light all work independent of each another. You can turn any on or off in any configuration you desire. Fifth - Cleaning is well thought out in design. Tank is easy to clean and the grill is easily removable allowing you to wipe clean the fan blades with relative ease. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Wait until price drops into the twenty dollar range and buy a few. Fill tank with 1/2 tap water and 1/2 with ice cubes. I've received this unit on August 19th and have been running it everyday and putting this little unit through its paces running it for long hours. I'm still not sure about the longevity or durability aspect but so far so good. Will update if unit fails. 5 STARS!!! Edit: August 7, 2024 - The original fan is still going strong. The USBC cord did eventually stop working but that was easily replaced. I've ordered additional fans and the quality of this product has drastically gone down hill. See pictures attached.. 1. The quality of the unbranded carrying strap is thinner. 2. The wall plug was missing and the USBC cord is smaller in length than original 3. The lid was missing the gasket which is crucial to keep water from spilling 4. The stabilizer feet that used to fold out no longer exist 5. The tank is opaque and looks cheap and the highest setting of the fan is too low compared to the original. 6. The original fan had more weight vs the knockoff was lighter. A clear difference in quality. Cutting corners on a once great product will get you negative review. It's the luck of the draw folks. It's a luck of the draw. 5 stars on the original NTMY fan.
