The HINEIBER Portable Space Heater is great heater if you understand how infrared works and have that usage in mind. What I mean by that is all space heaters output the same quantity of heat for watts since watts is a measure of usage. So, 1500 watts converts to 5120 BTUs. The real question is how the space heater heats and infrared is the type that is most misunderstood, but could be my favorite. Ceramic units create a super hot pocket of air and use a fan to blow it around a room - you have to heat all the air in the room for it to start feeling warm. Radiators heat the air causing convection currents to heat a room - still needing to heat all the air. An Infrared heater is like a sunbeam on a crisp morning. You know the air is still cold, but you feel the warmth coming from the sun or in this case the heater. Infrared heats objects in front of it. If you step outside the direct front, then you get none of that heat. Yes, over enough time it will heat all the objects in the room and those objects will then heat the air touching them. The key is you need to be in front of the heat to feel it. That's a challenge when the heater is on the floor or in a corner or any number of scenarios. HINEIBER is solving that by putting a 4 sided unit on legs. I normally would not be a fan of legs, but in this case it works for a couple of reasons. The tip over function is accelerometer based, so if it tips, it will be turned off before it even hits the ground. Yes, I tested it because I can watch the watts being pulled on a meter. The legs have little rubber feet which don't slide on. So it is remarkably stable. To turn the heater on, there is a main switch and then a dial. You can just turn the dial to "on" or you can turn it further to set a timer up to 9 hours. At that point, there still is no heat. Each side has its own button to turn heat on or off to that specific side. I measured the watts for each side and also with all 4 turned on together. The watts were well controlled by the unit and never went over the 1500watts. Each side operates independently, so you can have 3 sides on and one side off. I do my initial testing of electrical devices in a steel and glass cabinet, and in less than a minute the side pointing at the side of my cabinet had raised the temperature of the cabinet on that side to over 100 degrees using only 350watts. That's a big reason I like infrared. The rest of the cabinet stayed room temperature and there was no sound - zero! The whole upper unit is also metal which screams longevity to me and the handle on top to carry it around is sturdy. It's light enough you can take it into most any room. There is one challenge - the plug isn't long enough to have it in the middle of the room where it would heat all sides and I don't suggest using extension cords.
