Powered USB Hub 10Gbps intpw 9-Port USB 3 2 Hub USB C Hub with USB A USB C

This is a well-made powered hub. Delivery was same day (awesome) and arrived undamaged due to excellent packaging. Upon testing, all of my ports worked with no problem. The silver color matches perfectly with my iMac (see photo) and it sits very nicely under the iMac screen on the pedestal. I like the slanted design, which makes it easy to plug and unplug your USB cables. There are plenty of ports, including 6-USB and 3-USB C ports. All USB ports can charge as well as be used for data. 3 of the USB ports move data at 5 GBS and 2 of the USB ports move data at 10 GBS. 2 of the USB-C ports are for charging only and 1-USB C port is for charging and data. I plugged in a USB portable thumb drive, and it was recognized immediately with no issue. I am not running any other disks off of this hub at this time. Not only that, but I was pleasantly surprised by post sales support. I had a question on submitting my warranty registration using their website. I emailed them and got a response within 2 hours…very good considering this unit is from China. They only design issue I have is that the power plug and USB C connection cable comes out the side of the unit. It has performed well beyond my expectation. My file transfers between my different USB drives has vastly improved compared to the ones I've been using before. I have my keyboard and mouse plugged into it. There's also the added convenience of charging my cell phone and another device simutaneously. It has reduced all the clutter around my desktop. Very good charger. I wanted something low profile, and the angle of it suits my needs well so that chords aren’t sticking straight up out of the device. Separate power on my hubs and docs is very important to me so I don’t drain my PCs. This fits the bill perfectly for that. He recognizes USB devices quickly as it should. The only con for me is when the computer is off, it doesn’t charge devices. I almost took one star off because I feel it should pass the charge even without the PC turned on. Pros: Regular sized plug Good power cord length Lots of USB-A ports Nice form factor Cons: Recessed, stiff ports Only 1 data USB C port, 2 are power only (knew this prior to buying) Ports not all recognized in some chaining configurations It's unfortunately not registering all ports when used in a chain. The hub is recognized as multiple 4 port hubs, which is odd and possibly the issue when chained - all still seem to be recognized, but the first 4 are non functional. All ports will work when directly plugged in, but that's not worth the hassle. Enough work to meet my current needs, but it's frustrating to have multiple non-functional USB-A ports. Ports are stiff and recessed - it may be difficult to get some devices to connect. It's fine for lightweight peripherals. The manual does give info about device loading and limitations for external hard drives. I like that the power cord is not a wall wart - this gives it extra cord length and makes it fit better on a surge protector. Functional enough that I'll keep it. Frustrating enough I'll avoid this brand in the future. I'll swap it to a direct connection when I need the additional ports. ETA: Bumping to 4 stars from 2 because there are a lot of things I like. It does work but not the level of plug and play I expect in a hub. I'll take some blame for the issues with chaining, but I've also not experienced this type of drop out with other hubs. Look carefully at the description, note the single data USB C with 2 power, understand the recessed and stiff nature of the ports can make some things not work well (and make sure you have things seated will). I got this and it helped clean up my desktop instantly. I was able to put this off to the side and connect my rechargeable battery kits, various smart watches, and other usb-a chargeable devices. Took all the clutter away and since I could plug 12 devices in, I was able to drop the mental gymnastics of what needs to be charged and when...they could all be charged. Read more
