This tamper is excellent—solid, heavy, and very heavy-duty. I don’t need to apply any pressure myself; its weight alone is enough to compress the coffee in the portafilter effortlessly. The silicone tamper mat that comes with the kit accommodates it well. Nice and plush microfiber towel. I cannot speak for the plastic templates, as I just make espresso with a little milk. The tamper set came in handy when I bought my first espresso machine recently. The only downside with this set was that the tamper did not quite fit the filter basket when tamping down the coffee grounds. It could have been a tad bit larger in diameter so that it wouldn’t leave the slight bit of coffee at the edge un-tamped. It’s just an extra bit of tamping to get it all. Otherwise an excellent set to get you started. I really liked the weight and quality feel of the tamper and the frothing pitcher. The small cleaning towel came in so handy to clean up while making espresso and afterwards (I need more of those for cleaning my kitchen). I liked that it has a loop so that it can be hung up to dry. The stencils included in the set were a nice extra to have on hand when you want to get a little fancier and show off your lack of skills in latte art. Read more

I was a little skeptical buying this since you are getting so much for a really great price but I was blown away by the quality of the items. The tamper has a good amount of weight to it so a lot of pressure is not necessary to tamp the powder nicely. The tamper pad is also really great to ensure my counter stays clean and keeps the espresso particles leftover on the tamper from going everything. The frothing pitcher is also very sturdy and a perfect size. I usually don't even have to fill it halfway to make 12oz lattes and the handle is very sturdy so I never have to worry about it when I am pouring my milk. I have only gotten to use 2 of the stencils but they are a great addition for when you want to sprinkle on cinnamon or chocolate powder and want to make it look pretty. I use the cloth provided every day to wipe off the frothing wand on the machine. I've had the items for 2 weeks and so far I have had a great experience. Read more
