Nice bug free shelter for outdoor use. I bought this for a hammock bugtent and it's great! It was fairly easy to set up using guylines, but I found it to be easier to set up and take shape with tarp poles. I will be modifying those poles by cutting off the tips to size and use the attached grommets. The tarp itself is pretty thick and looks like it should not allow radiant heat to pass through. The mesh us adequate for breathability and keeping the bugs out. There is no floor, so plan on using a rug. Included were the necessary cordage for the ridgeline and guy outs as well as stakes for the bottom tabs. I'm honestly not too impressed with the J stakes, but those are easily replaced. The zippers, three on each end allow you to pass a hammock strap through and will self adjust as the straps move with the hammock. The third zipper runs all the way to the bottom and the screen will separate so the sides can be rolled up and secured to the tarp. Modifications to make assembly easier will include using tarp poles, adding shock cord loops to the guy out tabs and two bottom D-rings to attach to the poles (to maintain shape). The only reason I gave this 4 starts is because it really should come with 4 poles for the side walls. Luckily I already had poles that were the right size. It really does make all the difference for the size inside. We were able to move our chairs back another foot after I put the poles in. Ok. So this thing gets incredibly hot inside. And holds the heat in which is the weirdest thing I've ever experienced with so much netting. The mesh is incredibly small which is great for keeping out even the smallest little gnats. But it took a strong gust of wind to actually push through the netting. I grabbed the LED light strip from my rtt and used that to do the lighting inside and that was a good decision for overall light dispersal and lightest weight. I made a custom length of cord to string through the inside. From pole to pole for the main support. Using the 2nd set of zippers to thread through and close around. Pretty sturdy. Seams are well sewn. The seams are also sealed. Little rubber bands sewn into the eyelet straps to help with cordage management. That was a good addition from the manufacturer. It is tricky to fold back up but packs into its little duffle well. I had enough space to include the extra cordage I made for the additions. No idea about waterproofing and how well it will last. Not sure about the strength of the cordage provided or how long the plastic tensioners will last. Worth the purchase. Especially if you are crafty and have extra 4ft long poles for side walls.there are already grometted straps ready to accept the end of the poles (spike style). Read more

First the critiques: I bought this since the Eureka No Bug Zone has been discontinued. I thought it would be similarly easy to set up and take down. Due to hexagonal footprint this is not as simple to set up especially as one person with poles in lieu of finding two conveniently placed trees. I highly recommend replacing the single guy line at each end of the shelter with two guy lines to allow the shelter to be erected with poles. It could be done with the single lines included but wouldn't be especially resistant to wind or weather. The design seems prone to slack in the middle of the ridgeline for one reason or another. After a few days of use one of the tabs for the stakes tore off and one of the grommets for holding the end of the poles came off. Both are simple fixes but are a bit disappointing as the item is new and lightly used. The positive: This item provides generous shade and shelter from the endless deluge of springtime bugs. If you have little ones or are camping this is going to be a lifesaver. With adjustable poles you can raise or lower the height as required for function or increased wind resistance. I opted for the normal weight version and am glad I did. The roof fabric feels rugged and inspires confidence that it will not rip from an errant brush against sticks or limbs. All in all: this shelter is not particularly light, easy to set up or exceptionally durable. However it fills a niche that has opened up since the discontinuation of the No Bug Zone. It is much less bulky than any of the screenhouses that require multiple rods and poles to set up and will provide many hours of peace during our outings. Read more

This tent is wildly easy to setup and is very lightweight overall. I will be using this in the Boundary Waters this summer, when the mosquitos are at their very worst! Great construction quality, excellent materials, clever design features. Recommended. Read more
