I have a 4 year old Parti Yorkshire Terrier. I have been using this on my 11 year old dogs, swollen gums and teeth since January 11. Because her gums were so swollen, I decided to put the powder directly on them and the teeth, once a day. Then I would put it in with her table food once a day. Today when I was looking at her teeth, and just trying to scrape off some of the plaque, a big chunk came off one of her teeth!! I am writing this review to warn other customers of the significant health complications my dog had after ingesting this spirulina blend. I have a 9 yo cocker with "bad breath" and have tried the chewy bones and other things to help resolve it, but nothing has worked. I found this blend online and wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately a week into treatment (slowly titrating the dose up per the instructions) he developed watery diarrhea. I thought perhaps there was an adjustment window. By the end of the week however, he not only had profuse diarrhea, but also was vomiting up all of his food. He became weak, lethargic, and wouldn't eat anything. I of course stopped giving him the powder, but he didn't improve. I took him to my vet and after $800 office visit including exam, X-rays, labs, and medications, he is back home, but his recovery is incredibly slow. He was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and colitis, and a week later he still has watery diarrhea and is slowly eating small portions of bland rice and chicken. According to my vet some dogs have a sensitivity to spirulina, and it is also possible that the spirulina, depending on how it was harvested, could have been contaminated with heavy metals or cyanotoxins which could cause this type of complication in dogs. I immediately reached out to the company to explain the situation and hoped for a response, at least an acknowledgement of the situation and a refund for this expensive blend (I had purchased the 3 pack). It has been over a week and no response from the company. No concern regarding possible contamination of their product or any willingness to examine this batch and rule out impurities. No concern about the illness my dog suffered, no acknowledgement of the situation, not even any words of support or well wishes for his health. This company obviously does not stand behind its product, nor do they seem to care about their customers and their pets. Very disappointing on many levels. Read more

This is an amazing product. My vet said to brush Marley's teeth. Impossible! So they said it was OK to just make sure toothpaste got into her mouth. So to avoid another $450 cleaning I searched for & found PorDental. Within a very SHORT time her teeth didn't have a sign browning AT ALL. They had started to look sketchy. I mix it with her food ... no distasteful flavor. For her weight they recommend 1/2 scoop. I use half of that amount and her pearly whites are, well, pearly white!!! I started with recommended amount and tapered off. Months & months have gone by and her teeth look great and her breath is just fine.
