My big 3 y/o rescue had to have a huge tooth extracted d/t breakage and the opposite tooth is also chipped and at risk, but she loves to chew. They don't smell, they break down without harming her teeth (they sort of disintigrate as she chews them, not unlike shatterproof glass).
