This sharpener is effective and very quick to use. I for some time used another sharpener off of Amazon that was not so good and it didn't give me the same level of sharpened edge this one does. Then, with my new leather strop I got, a perfect combo at least in my case. Thumbs up and a good suggestion for if anyone wants one as a gift or personal use. Read more
This is replacing a Minosharp that had the fine/pink wheel break after several years. I got this instead of paying 20 bucks to replace one wheel. I think the Minosharp was an 18 degree angle. I am using 16 degree with this one. I took 10 swipes each on course, medium, and polish. After doing that 3 times over a couple weeks the knives are as sharp as I’d hoped. I also used the scissors sharpener. That was a nice added bonus that saved me a few dollars on new pair. Like many I worried about an inexpensive unknown brand sharpener on my good knives. After sharpening a few knives I noticed the edge of a knife had become square. The crude sharpener had worn out creating a shelf in stone that took away the edge. 3 stars because I can still use it due to being able to adjust the angle Read more
