I'm a rookie to hair things. I'm not a hippie by any means of the word - no kombucha or fire circles for me. I take showers daily but I just can't stand brushing my hair when I live by the ocean always want to drive with the windows down to smell that ocean air. My hair gets tangled immediately and there's really no point in brushing it. That being said, sometimes for work, I have to brush it, go to a bougie ass party and get fancy. Enter curling irons. I have curled my hair in maybe 5+ years. I haven't needed to until a recent change in careers. So I checked this one out, great reviews, and purchased it. It came fast, well packaged with an amazing variety of sizes and a flat iron. Welp, I watched a YouTube video on how to curl my hair and thought I was well prepared. I was not. Gloved up, things were going decent, I was kinda proud of myself and getting confident. Then things got real bad. I turned for a second and singed my arm. In February. This is now April. I still have a dime sized burn on my forearm (that is now healed) but scarred (it looks like a bruise). Just be aware that these babies are h-o-t. They're supposed to be and not made for dummies like me that can't do hair. This is completely MY fault. Would I purchase this product a thousand times over? Yes, absolutely. Would I buy it for a teenager who may possibly leave it on and walk away from it? No. Or a child you're living your dream through by putting them in pageants making them look like scary little dolls come alive and do their hair as big as Texas? Wand- I’ve had this for a few months. I love the wand it gives me beautiful curls. Tight, wavy, and super loose any way I want to style. It heats up very fast & very hot. The straightener however I feel like it’ll give out pretty quick it didn’t heat up as you would think since day one. I’ve had a few straighteners way better than this even Revlon can do better. The flat iron can get really hot but it sucks at straightening things. I tried to use it to straighten my wig on its highest setting, it looks the same minus some frizz. I’ve had this flat iron for years and convinced myself that because of the price of it, it was a quality flat iron. I have bought other ones that actually do the job at a lower temperature. I love both the straightener and the curling wand. My hair is so kinky and coarse and curly just an absolute mess. I straightened in one pass each strand bone straight. I am so pleased. Even though my hair is curly naturally there are times I want a clean curl. the curling wand saves the day no matter which of the 5 desired size of the curl. I tried them all and I was not disappointed. Just as the straightener, the curling wand heats up very quickly and you can expect the curl to be perfect before the usual 30 sec count. Not the highest quality. Packaging is very high end. Physical product looks more child like. Very bulky and hard to use. Doesn’t come with degrees of temp on it. Just three degrees of hotness and it gets wayyyy to hot at level two. I have thick hair and thought I’d need two or three. Even level one was way to hot.
