This is easily the best chair in it's price range (around $200 at time of purchase); I'd even put it up against some of the $500+ chairs I've purchased in the past. I initially purchased one for my home office and ended up buying a 2nd one for my work office a week later. The comfort level is on par with the Steelcase Leap (a $1000+ chair). - Chair material: Sturdy and high quality material. The base is actually metal rather than plastic or flimsy aluminum. The mesh back is very breathable yet supportive. - Assembly: A+ - it doesn’t get any better than this. I’ve put together dozens of chairs and this is by far the easiest to assemble and the instructions are crystal clear. The included tool is all you need. All parts were clearly marked. Bolts fastened right into place without stripping. - Comfort: The seat cushion is a good compromise between firm and comfortable. Arm rests are lightly padded and have good vertical adjustment range. The back rest has the right amount of lower back support and will recline quite a bit with the ability to lock-in at any point. - Style: Subjective, but I think it fits in just fine at the office or at home in the room. One piece of constructive advice I’d give to the seller if you’re reading these is to use a better blister pack for the bolts & tool. In both orders, when I opened the box, the blister pack had come apart during shipping and the bolts were scattered all over the place in the box. Read more

This review is for the ProtoArc Flexer Ergonomic Office Chair. It is EXACTLY (almost) what I have been looking for to replace my aging mesh ergo chair. After buying, assembling, and testing 4 chairs under $400, I have stopped looking and am keeping this beauty. I have never seen such careful, thoughtful packaging; it was easy and quick to assemble (12 bolts I think), tool included, everything marked and explained on this huge poster that is included in the box + owners manual in the box and online, website, USA service, 5year warranty…wow! I’m a big guy and this chair is so comfortable for my computer and my oil paintings. I wanted comfort and quality, and this chair gives me that in abundance. I didn’t want silly features that I would never use. The Flexer chair and armrests adjust up and down (no goofy 5D 7D bs); it has only 3 or 4 recline positions that is more than adequate for a quick stretch or nap. Did I mention that the design is beautiful? Catch it on sale or with a coupon like I did ($179); it’s one of my best purchases ever. Read more

This is one of the best office chairs I have owned. So easy to assemble and packaging is fantastic. Has definitely helped with some lower back pain. I ended up buying on for my home as well and for several employees after they saw the new chair. Highly recommended Read more

Upon opening the box, I was impressed on how well the individual parts were packaged, but also skeptical on how sturdy the base would be due to the fact that each arm had to be mounted to a central hub. Closer inspection of the parts showed clean welds and tight and precise fittings of the parts. All tools required were thankfully included in a nicely packaged blister pack along with some extra screws. There is an Allen key included which included a T-shaped handle instead of your typical L ones, making it much more comfortable to operate. Set up was quick, around 20 min. Just be aware that they seem to only give you 3 screws for the backing and the base of the chair. This was confusing because that joint has 5 holes for screws and I checked everywhere. I just ended up using the extra screws it came with to secure it. When fully put together, it’s a pretty sleek low profile chair with a really really smooth glide on hard wood flooring, too smooth as I wound up zipping back and forth. I do wish the wheels has some "lock" mechanism preventing any accidental slides. Even when sitting down, I find myself moving ever so slightly at the slightest movement. The seat cushion is nice and thick with padding, my only concern is if your place of use don’t have A/C then you might be sweating a bit down there. The back is mesh and provides tons of airflow. Unfortunately, because its just a straight mesh backing, it provides almost no lumbar support at all. It can be easily resolved with a lumbar pillow. Overall, its a decent office chair. Would I recommend it? Probably. Would I get it for myself? Probably not. This chair is definitely NOT in the same caliber as your Herman Millers or Steelcases, those are the cream of the crop. This chair is more comparable to your IKEA or Staples chairs. While this is decent enough and may last for a few years, your back will probably benefit from a more ergonomically designed chair.
