In tests I watched on Youtube, this filter performed well with a logical test methodology for reasonable filtering and flow, so I decided to buy it and a different part number for a different vehicle (but still the PurolatorBOSS brand filter). Oil is changed every 5000 miles on both cars, and there have been no issues or leaks with this filter properly installed. I would suggest you also do a good search for reviews from sources you trust, and that use a good methodology for objective testing...scrutinize sources carefully for bias. Read more

Got this for a good price. Shipped and sold by Amazon. Installed with no issues and appears nice. Have no idea whatsoever if it performs as advertised. I change at 5,000 miles. Would never go longer than that regardless of claims. Always use Pennzoil Platinum Plus synthetic. Read more

It was surprised that the companies flagship oil filter was not sealed with at least a thin plastic cover on the inlet end. Never the less the filter appears to be very well made. Read more

Used this filter for older car with high milage and used high milage blended oil. Car seems to have a tad more power now. And less pressure on gas for same speed. Read more

I have a 2013 Hyundai Accent 1.6l 4cyl and it is particular about oil filters. Even if the product says it is compatible there is still issues such as, excessive vibrations and audible noises. Even the K&N filters didn’t work well. Later, figured out only a few work; OEM obviously, FRAM’s full synthetic lineup, and PUROLATER’s line of regular(red) and BOSS(Black) oil filters. I’d imagine PUROLATOR ONE(blue) would work. Runs like normal now! I like brands that aren’t so in your face like FRAM but if it works it works. Read more
