Quad Lock Case for iPhone 12 Pro Max Black

I have seen a few negative reviews on here that have me completely dumbfounded. The quad lock is a very well designed Phone case and holder, with superior hold and security. Can be used in vertical or landscape mode. I personally cannot understand how it is possible for others to have lost their phone, or even chewed up the back of the phone case without it, having to do with their impatience, or lack of understanding of how the lock engages and disengages, it does not take a brain surgeon but I guess if you’re half drunk or not the sharpest pencil in the drawer, you might have trouble figuring this out. All things considered this is not going to be your cheapest case and you might even have to swap out from your normal case to this one for just one you’re riding, but it will definitely secure your phone and keep it from shaking and vibrating, and hold in windy conditions. I am a fan of Quad Lock products. I like the customizability and seemingly ever-varied options. The products are quite well made. I have found no sprues, no seams, no malformation. The center bolts are very good quality. The packaging is even quite nice. I enjoy their products so much so that it is distressing to me to be disparaging. Let me preface. I drive a Piaggio Liberty 150 abs motor scooter. I bought the mirror mount, shock mount, lever head, and case to fit my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Every piece works well, looks nice, and is sturdy. With regard to this case however, while it is very well made it is clear that it was not designed specifically for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The phone is secure in the case and the camera port lines up well, but it took far more fiddling than I have ever needed to do with any phone in any case to get this case to go over my phone completely. That is the first of 2 issues that i take with this phone case. The second is that there is no guide nor affirmation when trying to get the case onto the lever lock. When it locks in, it moves freely to lock and is secure but getting the x-hole in the back of the case to line up correctly with the x-mount on the lever lock is difficult. Note that once it is lined up it works perfectly. It just isn’t as simple as the promo videos make it out to be. In summary this is a fantastic product that can be a little bit better with better fit and some sort of alignment guide. This product was designed for use with motorcycles, but fails when pair with the iPhone11 (albeit not the only reason it was designed). This is because of no failure of it’s own though. I’ve had my iPhone 11 since release and never had an issue with the camera until I paired it with this case/quad lock stem mount (I have always used previous gen iPhones paired with an otterboxes and RAM style mounts for my offroad vehicles so I didn’t damage my current phone, in this case an iPhone 7 mounted with my 11 in my pocket). When I paired my iPhone 11 with a quadlock case I shortly after started experiencing focusing issues with the phone’s camera even often a long period of time after disconnecting it from the bikes mount. Apparently a lot of phones, like the iPhone, use an optical focus which is the downfall for use on a bike where it needs electronic focus/stabilization. Besides the fact that this product doesn’t work well my phone for the soul reason that it’s my phones fault and not this product I have it a 3, but 5s in all the rest. Buyer beware if you’re going to use it for road or offroad use on a motorcycle although the case is great, the mounting system is sturdy with quick attach/detachment, if your phone is using optical focus for its camera you will start to notice issues. As soon as I take the case off my phone and give it a few quick love taps near the camera all is well, but I’ve never had that issue with otterboxes though the reason I went with this is because my ram mount wouldn’t fit an iPhone 11 with an otterbox so I decided to give this a shot. Fits my phone perfectly. Has been very effective in drop mitigation. Works as its should with the quadlock system. Mounted on my motorcycle it stays put at high speeds on pennsylvania roads. That says all you really need to know 😆 Read more

Expensive for what it is but it does allow you to view your phone while you ride, which can be a godsend. Don't expect this phone case to hold up if it takes a dive, and don't forget to tighten the bolts on your quadlock when you are using it; my quadlock had a loose screw I was unaware of, so the phone flew off my bike at 80 mph. Needless to say, the phone's back glass was completely shattered, and the case was not sturdy enough to hold the phone (phone flew out of the case on impact). For $35 I would expect this case to hold up a lot better but I what can I do. It was partially user error, hence the 3 star rating. Good quality case. No fears of losing my phone when I ride the motorcycle. It did start to warp on the edges and wouldn't stay flush to the phone after about 8 months of using it but still very satisfied with this phone case. Will definitely order more. Read more
