When these arrived, they immediately went into the wash. They were washed in hot water (like all my towels) with NO FABRIC SOFTNER, then tumbled dry at the normal setting. Mine did not fill the lint screen as others have said. Yes, there was some lint, but absolutely not an excessive amount. Though not the thickest towels I've ever bought (those 900gsm were TOO thick & bulky), these are fluffy after laundering. More importantly, they are very absorbent. I can dry my hands quickly and completely. By the way, I only buy white towels & washcloths so that I can wash in hot water and, when needed, some bleach. The colored towels hanging on the towel bars in our home are strictly decorative- kind of like a picture- to bring color into the room. Long ago, I learned that even a tiny amount of acne cream or lotion remaining on hands can cause blotchy "bleached out" areas of even the nicest/best/most expensive of colored towels. Prior to washing them, I noticed that NONE of the 8 towels had a single thread hanging off. Usually, the ends of the seams have a thread dangling- often one on each corner. I haven't seen new towels without that in decades! I kept out one new, unwashed towel for comparison purposes. I've included a photo showing there is minimal shrinkage, certainly no more than one should expect from quality cotton. The towels didn't become distorted (a HUGE pet peeve of mine; I like neat stacks) nor did any seams become unraveled. Zero signs of any fraying.
