This is a great harness for my kitten. The only part he doesn't like is that it goes over his face and head - they make ones that the cat just steps into and out wraps around - I'll get that for his adult one. But I got an XXS of this and it has for him from 3-4 lbs up to 7 lbs now, and he definitely still has plenty of room to grow - I still have all the adjustments only halfway (and it's a little loose on him). He slipped out once - he got stuck and backed out of it, but it's generally secure. I also use a 16' small-dog retractable leash with this. The buckles rest on the padding, so I'm not afraid of buckling his skin or fur into it. It's nicely padded and seems to be comfortable, and sits low on his chest - he's never in danger of choking from it. Read more

My kitty always wanted to go outside. With living in the county, wild animals are always around. It was to big when purchases but fits now. Easy to take on and off. He starts purring when I bring it out for him to put on for our walks. It doesn't retract, you can prob add that one. Ive had this a year and half and still ib great shape. Like others note, the sizes seem to be bigger than you would assume though the numbers seem to be accurate. Make sure your chosen size can go smaller than your measurement to be snug, but you'll want the maximum neck to be able to go higher than your measurement since it'll need to fit over the head - in other words, don't just get the smallest size that contains your measurement because it needs to both be able to be snugged down as well as expand on the neck as wide as possible to fit on. Our cat is 11.5lb and fits in the XS! Based on the measurements, the S size would not be able to be tightened fully. She is a medium on another harness! Sizing aside, this seems like a decent harness that should be very escape resistant assuming it's sized properly. My main gripes are that the 2 buckles detach the chest plate from the back leaving you to have to squeeze the cats head through the neck hole which can't be unbuckled. This means you need to adjust the neck wide to put it on (and convince your cat to like stuffing their head in a small space) as well as needing to fiddle with the adjustment to tighten the neck again after it's on. If one of the chest buckles was moved to one side of the neck, you would be able to keep everything adjusted and just buckle up on one side making things much easier (it would instead slide on from the left or right and then buckle the neck and chest on the other side) My other gripe is that the harness overall sits very high on the chest compared to other harnesses that are longer. We want a harness to also protect against balcony falls and I'm not sure if this one would be able to distribute the force as well as others that extend lower on the chest piece. One final gripe is that the part of the chest piece that goes behind the arms (where it goes around the sides behind the arms) appears to be uncomfortable for our cat with the back of her front legs bumping into the harness. Maybe this is related to the chest part sitting so high, I'm not sure. Overall it's ok, it fits well but I think could be improved - though compared to the competition I think the gripes are relatively minor. Time will tell if our cat likes this one over others. Make sure you measure. If it’s your cat’s first harness go gradual. The harness itself seems very durable, looks comfy! Fits well and once you and your feline buddy are use to it, adjusts easily! We love ours!! Rub your hands on it for your scent. Start with just getting over their head. Leave on for a couple minutes, take off. When I first put my harness on my cats, they lie down on the ground and acted like they couldn’t walk. Lol they are not used to having anything hugging their body so it takes him getting used to but it only took a few days for my two now when they see it and I put it on they know they’re going out. Update: Tried to walk kitty on leash and he wiggled easily out of the harness. Definitely not escape proof. A snug fit is not comfortable for the kitty. Bought this for a 13 pound kitty. Fit is nice and snug, once it's on. The one strap has to go over kittys head, which freaks him out. Would have preferred one more open. Also, the distance between the two straps (neck and shoulders) cannot be adjusted and seems a bit off. But it seems escape proof and tough to get out of, so keeps Binx secure. It's well made and I really like the coordinating leash. Read more
