The media could not be loaded. I use this on my motorcycle to mount my radar detector. This is one amazing mount. This comes with a magnetic plate which I used some double sided tape to mount to the bottom of my radar detector. This holds very securely even at highway speeds. If you twist the radar detector it breaks the magnets hold and I am easily able to remove it so I can take it with me which prevents theft. The magnet is inset so the hold is very strong yet easy to remove with a twist. I have been using the Ram Mount system on my motorcycles and in my vehicles for years. This mount along with a long arm allows me to mount the radar detector so it has a good view of the road and it is easily in my field of view for use. I cannot say enough good things about this magnetic mount. Read more

I bought this to mount for my motorcycle, so that I can attach a radar detector. Put it together, stuck the magnet pad to my detector (I let it stay on for a day before using it), and have had no issues. It works great, and I can easily see it working for other applications. I've been out multiple times, once losing a mirror on the bumpy road, but the RAM Mount kept my detector in place for the entire ride. Best part is that it easily removes, so stopping for food isn't a hassle either. I highly suggest this product. Read more

This holds my Valentine Radar Detector securely. It makes placing or removing the detector a snap. Beats the old Velcro pad and strap obsolete. The only consideration is that it holds the unit so securely that any vibration from the motorcycle is directly transferred into the detector. This caused a problem, making the detector reset and false signal. The Velcro acted as a vibration dampener. I ended up rubber mounting this unit on the bike, now it works perfectly... Read more

This mount is perfect for holding my motorcycle radar detector. The magnet is very strong and has never come off while riding at high speeds. It is a very clean solution that holds tight over several years of use. Read more

This is a brilliant solution to securely mount any small, flat-backed electronics. It's made for mounting radar to a motorcycle, but I could see it being a nice solution for other devices in settings where other methods may be difficult. The magnets hold strong, and with it behind the windscreen I have no doubt that in any normal use the detector is staying put. I have several hundred miles on it so far and I have not bothered to put a strap around it yet. I will though, just for extra peace of mind. Installing it to a RAM-base or other AMPS patterned-mount can be a little tricky because you are working against two strong magnets that want to jump around. Put a small metal object on the top to make it easier. My only complaint, and the reason for the docked star, is that the magnets rattle inside when there is nothing on the mount. On my bike, at a particular RPM, they make quite a racket. You could glue them inside I suppose, but I've taken to putting a small nut on the plate when I am not using the RD. Extremely pleased with this mount, and same goes for other RAM products that I've used. Read more

This magnetic pad and associated elbow arrived and fit my RAM Mounting Arm perfectly. The magnet is so strong I almost could not get it apart for test fitting. The trick was to give a little twist. I then proceeded to attach the glued pad to my detector and made a slight error with placement. Unfortunately, or good (depending on how you look at it), the glue they are using is really strong. It would take more force that I was willing to exert to get that pad loose from my detector to reposition. It just stayed that way and I adjusted with the mounting arm instead. It wasn't going anywhere! I can see why they would suggest additional straps since with a twist it comes off the mount easily as would be expected. However, I would agree those are not needed in my application if everything is facing into the wind. I ran this thing across every huge bump, and well over highway speed, and it didn't budge a bit! I am just going to leave my power cord with little slack as possible. If it does come lose that should catch it just fine and i can pull over to fix. I suspect that will never happen, but is good backup just in case. Overall very impressed with this part of the RAM Mounting System. It looks nice, it's really flexible, and seems very safe for my expensive radar detection equipment. It is also offer at a great price compared to any other solution I investigated. Those were all at least double the cost of this solution. Read more

I waited a while and considered the purchase - is it really worth the money? yes. After seven or so months of use, this mount is excellent. It holds the detector (Escort Redline) firmly in place, yet is easy to remove. No issues with the magnet or adhesive steel plate for the detector. From 105 degrees in the desert, to below freezing at elevations. This is also solid - while the detector is not useful offroad, it remans in pace while I beat up the vehicle over boulders, waterfalls and washboard tracks. Glad to have it onboard. Read more

I have been using this since 2016 on various motorcycles and it works perfectly. My Valentine 1 (Gen 1) has the plate glued on the bottom and it stays firmly in place. I have a HARD unit in my helmet and the radar detector is hardwired to the bike. Plug in and go! :) Read more
