Replacement Office Chair or Stool Bell Glides - High Profile 5 Pack - S0007

Fit my Staples office chair perfectly. The bottoms of these are so smooth that regular felt stick pads won't stay on (like the glue doesn't adhere at all, not that they just fall off quickly). I wanted to put felt on them to fully protect my hardwood when moving the chair around. Fortunately, these have a hole in the middle into which these (http://www.amazon.com/Shepherd-Hardware-9909-2-Inch-Threaded/dp/B00GRBFJQG) stem glides fit perfectly. Recently upgraded to a better floor protector that didn't flex, but my rolling chair now rolled too easy on it! My back would hurt from trying to sit very still after just a few minutes in the chair. I tried to be MacGyvery and cut tennis balls and put them over the wheels. That did the job, but they kept popping off. So I bit the bullet and spent the money for these. They are the exact same height as my old wheels and they do exactly what I wanted them to. The chair no longer moves when I don't want it to but they are slick enough that when I push, the chair slides right along. Direct replacement for my office chairs wheels. They are perfect for laminate or carpeted area, however they are a bit hard on the bottom and may scratch a hardwood floor. Only reason for the 4 stars is they could have easily added a rubber or felt bottom. Read more

I have owned these for a month. I bought them to stop rolling back when playing racing simulation games with pedals. Before, I was using two heavy boxes to keep my chair from rolling back. It was a hassle to move the boxes around every time I wanted to play then put them back up when I was done. These bell glides will slide when you apply force only. The perfect solution when you have a low grip floor like hardwood. Taking the wheels out and putting this was so easy. I don't think I can fathom a chair on hardwood without these anymore. Read more

I bought a rolling chair that sits on wood floor. Unfortunately IKEA doe not sell bell glides to replace the wheels. I took another customer's suggestion and added a single of duct tape around the stem & pushed it in. Perfect fit! Now my daughter can study at her desk in a comfortable chair and I don't have to worry about my floor! I like the low profile of these bell glides. Read more
