For the price it’s great, adds good bass and is easy to setup since the wiring kit is included. I’ve had the Rockville dual 8s in my other car and they have lasted 4 years on max boost with 60% gain, so I’m sure these will last long aswell. The system is weak! The amp they send you do nothing for their 12’s speakers. They should only send that amp for 10’s and under. The box is cool. What I did was switch amps (cause I have 2 vehicles) I put my 3000 Planet Audio on these speakers plus infinity 12 speaker and switch their amp to my kickers 10’s in the other car. 2 stars cause I like the box for my future 12’s. But box and wiring kit almost cover the $200 if you really look at it. The amp is actually ok on them 10 kickers. But I wish I didn’t have to do nothing. That’s why you got the 2 stars. Will purchase piece by piece like the 1st time next time. Had to update. The amp is now cutting on and off from the overheating. DO NOT BUY. I have bought another Planet Audio 3000 amp to replace this and planning on buying 12 speakers to replace in their box! I can’t understand how this item got more than 2 stars in the reviews. My kicker 10’s are way better than these 12’s. Hit harder and everything! I have had the dual 12" kit for a few weeks now. I was very skeptical about the kit since it cost less than what I would expect to pay for any amplifier capable of producing distortion free bass. I bought the whole system from Amazon. 4ch Blaupunkt 1404 amp. Pyle PLG6C component fronts. And JBL GT7 6.5" coaxial rears. And for under $200 the mids- and highs sounded as good as systems I would have spent 4 to 5 times as much for off Crutchfield. So I spent the 180 more to see if I could get a decent full range car stereo for under $400. I installed the subs and amp in a CR-V crossover and for a receiver used a Kenwood KMM-bt522hd single din I bought a couple years ago. I was immediately amazed at how great it sounded. For under $350 It sounded better than some $1000 car systems out there. The 2 - 12" ported box has all the bass u will ever need unless you want to shake all the cars in a 50ft radius. It seems about equal to when I've had a couple kicker comp 12's powered by a 500w+ Kenwood. Though its been a while so I may not be remembering the sound totally correct. But I'm 100% satisfied with the rockville amp-box kit. Honestly, for even a few hundred dollars it would be a bargain to me. Any music style sounds great and I can turn up the gains to max and I haven't gotten any distortion even with bass heavy artists like Bassnectar. I think it sounds ideal in my CR-V with the Pyle 6.5 fronts at 120hz LPF - 24db slope and the Jbl rears 100hz LPF -24db slope. The bass control knob is also really handy. I took it out of the factory housing and it fit perfectly inside an optional accessory switch plug under the shifter after drilling a hole for the knob and the led and applying a dab of hot glue so it won't ever loosen. If you're thinking about trying out one of these kits I would definitely check them out. I bought this for my 2008 honda fit hatchback. Provides very good bass for the price. Sometimes these can be very hard to wire through your firewall, but that will be the same no matter which amp/subs you get. The only reason i'm only going with 4 stars, is because the amp is a lot lower quality. This is understandable considering the price, but is something you should consider. Mine is still working fine, however several of the knobs used to adjust have broken off with minimal force. Read more
