I'll be honest, I partly got this just because of the builder character in Ocarina of Time trading sequence. This is a really handy saw for finer work that needs a flexible blade. Cuts very well, fast and accurate. It has two different sides, one with larger teeth and one smaller for different use cases. My only issue is that I think a blade guard could be included as it's a little dangerous to expose the opposite side while sawing. It does come with two plastic guards on each side but they slip off pretty easily when moving. Other than that, this is a great saw to have around. Read more

Got this for exactly what it’s for - to trim edges (I got it to cut dowels embedded in wood). Works beautifully. Sharp, cuts quickly and smoothly. Very happy with it Read more

I got this on sale so I grabbed two. There was a small tree growing under our fence and this was the perfect tool for that. It's powerful than it seems. The teeth are very sharp and strong for a small job like this. The blade is a good size in width, with some bend, but very durable. I recommend this for small jobs that don't require too much power. Pros Sharp & Versatile – Double-edge SK5 steel blade (14 TPI & 17 TPI) handles both rip and cross cuts efficiently. Flexible for Precision – Thin, flexible blade allows clean flush cuts and detailed work. Lightweight & Comfortable – Beechwood handle and low weight reduce fatigue during long sessions. Good Value – Budget-friendly entry into Japanese pull saws with a lifetime after-sales guarantee. Cons Handle Quality – Beech handle feels less durable than premium alternatives. Flush Cut Technique – May leave small marks if not used carefully; requires a bit of practice. Learning Curve – Pull-stroke cutting can take adjustment for users used to Western push saws. Not Premium – Fine for hobbyists, but professionals may prefer other brands. Bottom Line The RUITOOL Ryoba SK5 is sharp, lightweight, and affordable, making it a solid choice for beginners and hobby woodworkers. It delivers good accuracy and dual-edge versatility, but those seeking flawless finishes or premium craftsmanship might want to step up to higher-end options. Read more

Typical of what I expected from Ruitool. Great quality product at a reasonable price. Teeth on blade are very sharp and tough. The handle is finished better than the item picture would indicate. Again, great workmanship from ruitool. If I had to criticize anything, it is that the handle rivets are on flush with the wood. I consider this to be a minor issue that causes no operational problems. I will not hesitate to buy other products from this company. I failed to mention how well the saw cut on both soft and hardwoods. Just remember to use a light touch; not much more than the weight of the saw is needed. I was impressed by how cleanly and smoothly the cuts were made. An enjoyable experience! Read more

What a handy little saw. Very well made and sharp. Even used this to cut a strip of wood off the end of a 12" wide board and it was very accurate. Read more

I use a very high end Japanese (pull) pole saw for outdoor tree trimming, so when I saw this item I took a chance and purchased it for cutting melamine board for my cabinet shelf. I taped the area with painter's tape, and cut the board at a very low angle (almost hortizontal). Removing the tape, I found NO CHIPPING. Not one! Amazing! Take your time, go slow, and frequently clean the area you are cutting to ensure your line is straight and on target. I have since used this saw to cut very thin wood singles to a reduced size. Again, amazing results. The blade is very flexible and if you prefer cutting on the pull, this saw will exceed your expectations. Read more
