I've had my scanpan pan for several years now. It is my daily breakfast pan allowing me to cook perfect eggs any style; especially my favorite, once over easy with perfect yolks. The pans heat evenly across the bottom. Maybe not as even as the best pans, but darn good for a lightweight breakfast pan. The nonstick surface can be worn down, but only so far. You will not get tattered teflon pieces wearing up from the bottom. My pan after years of use is still non-stick, just not as slick. Cons: OK, I didn't pay an arm and a leg for my pan, but the lip is straight all around. Nice and even, but everything dribbles down the side of the pan. When I transfer an omelet to someone's plate I must wipe the side of the pan before I put it back on the burner for the next omelet. I've never had any other non-stick pan last for more than a few months even using nylon utensils. The scanpan has lasted for years and I do not distinguish which utensil I reach for. The pan is non stick which allows me to use nylon or silicone utensils without fighting stuck pieces. I just prefer the control I get with a metal utensils that do not get floppy when hot. Read more

I bought this pan more than 10 years ago, and for a decade of goon nonstick service, this pan gets a 5-star rating. But one word of caution-- After working well for a decade, either something stuck to the pan or the nonstick coating was damaged. I tried to clean it off, but couldn't. I knew that similar problems with enameled cast iron (like Le Cruset) could be fixed bym pouring some bleach in the pan and letting it sit overnight, and I thought that might work with Scanpan as well. BIG MISTAKE. The next morning, the nonstick lining of the pan peeled off, like the old skin after a really bad sunburn. I thought it was supposed to be some sort of permanent bond, but I guess permanent bonds can stiull be broken with the right chemical reaction. The pan's ruined now, but it was good for ovver 10 years, which is way better than any other nonstick I've owned. Just don't soak it in bleach. Read more

This pan seemed well worth its price for the first couple months. Now, less than a year after buying it, everything sticks and it's Teflon-like coating has visibly rubbed off and is now ending up in my food. Very disappointed. I might as well have bought a cheaper one. Read more

Safe to use nonstick pan. Pan is solid, heats smoothly & evenly. The non-stick quality is excellent. Comes in a variety of sizes. The 8-inch is great for smaller things - eggs, tortillas, etc. & only needs a thin coat of olive oil. Read more
