As I mentioned in a different review, I was on a quest for a machine needle to handle a tough assignment. I needed to sew multiple doubled seams of ballistic nylon. This is a tough fabric similar to canvas, only less "give" or stretch. I purchased two different HD needles for the project. This is one of them. This needle is spec'd as a Jean and Denim needle. Not exactly what I was sewing, but canvas style material is not too different. I figured the ballistic nylon would survive the process if the needle would. Turns out I was right. The needle handled the material without too much difficulty as long as I didn't push it too hard. Needle marks were minimal, and in fact the sewing went along quite smoothly. After 15 min or so I decided to try the other needle I purchased instead of this one. Why?? Well, I'll just tell you.!! Since I am a guy who handles all of his own projects and because no one is around to criticize my choices too much, I thought I would try to speed up the operation a little. The other needle was a 120/20 and was enough larger to make me think that I could move the job on a little faster without breaking needles -- so I did.! In any event, THIS needle never failed me. It stayed sharp even through the tough ballistic nylon and never gave me any trouble. I never broke a needle and as long as you keep the speeds under control, I don't think this needle will ever fail. VERY pleased.! I can't help but think that I now have one less excuse for not doing my backed up sewing.! Love this needle. Read more

My wife uses these when sewing canvas bicycle frame bags. Sometimes she must go through 2 layers of canvas plus 2 layers of webbing and/or Velcro material. These needles do a killer good job without overworking her machine. So, jeans?? No problemo, mi amigo!!! Read more
