Exact replacement for the same product.

An old Acer laptop bit the dust. This was an easy fix. Retrieved Windows 10 and am back in business. Read more

A great HD replacement

An awesome replacement HD for my Acer Aspire. I took apart my PC because of a hard drive failure. I seen this replacement on Amazon, read the reviews, and took a chance on it. Im glad that I did. It is a direct replacement HDD for an Acer Aspire 5600U all-in-one PC. Installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 on it and it was ready to go. Read more

Works well but be careful dealing with the partitions and format

It is working well, but when I used Windows 10 "Disk Management" to see how this drive was organized, I saw that it has three partitions. One 200 mb partition could not be changed, the largest (900 GB+) being a simple partition formatted NFTS that was smaller than it needed to be because there was a 20 GB or so unallocated partition on the drive. I changed the larger drive to an NFTS unallocated drive using the longer format method (not the quick format), which worked well. But I lost the 20+ GB that was in the third partition...it just disappeared. So this drive now has 20 or more GB not available for use than it originally had. I"m not sure how to recover those GB or whether I want to since I now have a lot a files backed up on it, but be careful when you prepare the drive for use. If anybody can tell me what I did wrong and how to correct it, It would be useful. Perhaps I should have simply enlarged the small unallocated partition? Read more

It worked for me

My Laptop didn't want to boot because the whole system go corrupted. S.M.A.R.T was failing and I had to buy a new internal storage so I found this one for such a great value. It is the same specifications as my original HDD but obviously it won't look as legit but it worked perfectly. I reinstalled windows and it was able to boot again. Read more

Amazon delivered it to the wrong house

Once one of our neighbors down the street delivered it to our home, the product installed very well and was easy to configure for immediate use. Great value and great performance. Read more

Failed and warranty was useless

This HDD worked for a few weeks and then became unreadable. I have never had a disc fail so quickly. Samsung refused to honor their warranty and told me to try Seagate. Seagate told me that the drive was not covered under warranty since it was an OEM purchase. The vendor offered to honor the warranty but required the disc to be returned. I had valuable and proprietary data on the disc and I needed data recovery attempts that would void the warranty. So I have learned to never purchase Seagate or Samsung Disc Drives and I suggest that you do not even think about purchasing these HDDs. Read more
