I ordered these to put into an existing outdoor fixture. They were simple to install, obviously. You just screw them in like any other light bulb. They turn on when motion is detected about 30 feet away and stay on for about a minute after I'm inside. The light is bright enough to light up the yard for maybe 60 feet out. The beam is a bit narrow perhaps but the fixture uses 2 bulbs so no problem. I don't know that it is any narrower than bulbs I used in the past. The bulb I got is a 'day light' bulb, which is what I wanted. It seems brighter to me than the warmer bulbs. It works great and has plenty of light. I'm totally happy with it. Read more

How many Amazon customers does it take to screw in a light bulb? If in your household the answer is "one" then this is the product for you. This short review is for the Gen 3/5000K 2-pack. The instructions say to turn off the switch to the fixture where you will install the bulb. Screw the bulb into the socket and turn on the light switch. If you installed the bulb in the daylight (recommended) the bulb will light for+/-5 seconds and then go out. The default setting is for the motion sensor to be activated so the bulb will remain off after dark until motion is detected. When motion is detected, the light comes on and remains on for 1 and a half minutes from the time the activity in range ends. To deactivate the motion sensor and put the bulb in always-on mode you simply flip the light switch on and off. To reactivate motion sensor mode turn off the light switch for 5-10 seconds and turn it on again. The bulb will light for five seconds and go out, indicating motion sensor mode has been activated. The manufacturer claims the bulb detects motion at a distance of 30 feet. Without actually measuring it seemed at least that far and perhaps a little further. The angle of detection was nice and wide and is +/- the 40° stated in the specs. The bulbs worked in my double fixture light and my guess is that they will work in yours providing they are angled far enough apart so that the light from one does not trigger the daylight sensor in the second bulb. Please do not be mislead by some reviews which are for the Gen 2/3000K which state you can open up a cover on the bulb and adjust the settings. This is not the case on the Gen3/5000K and it is stated quite plainly in the instructions that you should not try to open the bulb's housing. The bulbs work exactly as stated in the first paragraph so if you feel 90 seconds is not long enough for your lights to remain illuminated after a detected motion ends then you should look for a bulb which allows you to adjust the setting. The bulbs seem well-made and are certainly bright enough to allow you to find your keys when returning home in the evening and should deter any but the most determined intruder. They are on the expensive side but since they work exactly as they claim in the description and even if they last just half of the 25,000 hours claimed they are, in my opinion, worth the price. Arrived on time, easy to install and so far so good, but I only have it for almost 3 weeks. Its very, and I mean very bright which I love and it does turn on on 30ft close to it. I like the fact that I save money on battery and energy. Just plug in on the light compartment to the ceiling and turn the switch on one time if you want it just for night motion sensor time but if you want it on all night turn the switch on and off and on again and it will be on by dawn all night long. The directions on the manual are very easy to understand. I am very satisfied as of now with the purchase of this motion sensor lights and you get two of them. I'm only using one of them for now on my front door. I would recommend and I hope it last for a very long time...... Read more

Last summer, I bought 3 Sengled LED with Motion Sensor PAR38 Bulbs to replace the old recessed ceiling lights at the front porch. It was very easy to follow the instructions and install by ourselves. The bulbs illuminate for 90 seconds when the motion sensors detect people into the range. The light is so bright for us to see everything clearly even in dark night. More than 10 months passed, and the light bulbs still function well. I like them very much so bought another package to install in the hallway indoors. I discovered that this newer model has daylight sensor so it will not light up during the day to save more electricity. No need to turn the switch on and off anymore. Read more

The lights are great, but the motion detection is only fair. The lights are bright and work very well. The motion detection is a bit of a disappointment. The motion detection only activates the light in a smallish area under the light. I was disappointed by this but still plan to get more... they’re just not as effective as I had hoped. Read more

I installed these on a covered porch, so I can’t really comment with regard to whether they are “weatherproof”. They work well where they are placed. Installation and start-up were easy. Screw ‘em in and test by turning switch on and off a couple of times. Bulb(s) will turn on and then within five seconds, will fade to off. Done! They activate at night in response to people walking under them, or pesky nighttime animals, like raccoons. In fact, these bulbs are effective nighttime security. Read more

I recently purchased 2 of this bulb from Amazon and I can tell you that they work very well and are very bright as advertised. Very easy/simple to install and most importantly, no app/software needed to control them. Also as advertised, the lights never come on during daytime which is very good for energy savings. I am very happy with the purchase and recommend it to anyone looking for motion detection outdoor flood light that is very bright, easy to install, energy efficient and requires no app/software to operate.
