I have fine, long hair. I’ve bleached it, and I’m currently on a mission to healthier hair. I wanted this Shark for a long time, and when I finally caught it on a great Black Friday sale I knew it was meant to be. This product is worth every penny! The blow dryer works at drying so quickly, without overheating my hair. It helps maintain a smoothe look, without having to constantly run a brush through it while drying. The curling tool is phenomenal. It leaves the prettiest, smooth soft curls. I love that the cool setting button is easily accessible. When I set my curls with the cool touch, they last so much longer. The smoothing attachment is great for blowouts or sleek, straight looks. I love the look of my shark, too. It has a little bit of weight to it, but not more than expected. It’s not too loud when it’s on. I’m very happy with this purchase! Read more

I love this styling tool. I use it every time. I have a special occasion and it’s even easy enough to whip out on the daily if I feel up to it. I have Irish fine, thick hair, which is both delicate, and heavy. I haven’t noticed any damage from this tool. Although I do use it with heat protectant products every time. As usual for me with any curl I need to use a lot of moose and hairspray to keep it in. But with those products, it is the cutest and easiest way to add volume and curl to my hair. I get so many compliments when I go out after using it. When using the self wrapping barrels, the sir flow will let you know how much hair it can curl at one time by dropping the rest of it. So it’s super convenient that way. I’ve never curled my hair before in my life and I was able to do it on my first try with this tool! And the heat settings are so great, I love the cold shot. I finally pulled the trigger on the Shark FlexStyle after eyeing both this and the Dyson Airwrap for a long time, and I’m really glad I did. I’ve had it for a couple of months now, and it’s become a staple in my hair routine. I already owned a Drybar hair dryer with a round brush attachment, so I felt pretty comfortable jumping into this. One of my favorite things about the FlexStyle is the versatility—you can swap out attachments depending on what you’re trying to do, whether that’s smoothing, adding volume, or going for curls. I’ll be honest though—I’m still not perfect at using it yet. During the process, things can look a little messy while I’m styling, especially as I’m working through sections. That said, the end result always turns out good, even if it doesn’t look super polished mid-style. I think it’s more of a learning curve than an actual issue with the tool. Even with that, I still really like it and reach for it often. I’ve also struggled a bit with getting my curls and volume to fully hold, but I realized a lot of that came down to the products I was using. Once I switched things up, it definitely helped, so I think product choice plays a big role with this tool. If you’re trying to achieve that 90s blowout vibe, I actually think this is easier—and maybe even less time-consuming—than using hot rollers. That’s just my personal opinion, but it feels more streamlined once you get into a rhythm. It’s definitely a higher price point, but I do think it’s worth it if you’re going to use it regularly and this is a look you’re consistently trying to achieve. For me, it’s been a solid investment and something I reach for often. Read more

The blow dryer on the Shark FlexStyle is phenomenal. What really sets it apart is the targeted and purposeful drying. Unlike a traditional blow dryer that creates a full-on wind tunnel, this one allows you to focus on specific sections of your hair without blasting everything else. With regular blow dryers, I always struggled to control my hair—it would fly everywhere and dry with frizz and unwanted waves. The FlexStyle dries powerfully yet calmly, and my hair stays mostly in place instead of whipping around. This alone makes it a standout hair dryer. The curling attachments are interesting but definitely come with a learning curve. There are two separate attachments—one for the right side and one for the left—which pull the hair clockwise to create symmetrical curls on both sides of your head. I have very fine, frizzy hair, but a lot of it. Because of that, I had to use very small sections for the hair to properly wrap around the curling barrel. If you have a lot of hair like I do, expect the curling process to take quite a bit of time. My first curling experience wasn’t great, and I’ll be honest—it’s going to take a while to get the hang of it. I can see the potential, but it’s not intuitive or quick, especially for beginners or those with thicker or fuller hair. The dryer itself is lightweight, which I love, but unfortunately the cord is the biggest downside. It’s very heavy, doesn’t swivel well, and tangles easily. When the dryer is extended with the curling attachment, it becomes quite long and awkward to maneuver. To make it usable, I had to hold the base of the dryer with my unused hand to keep the cord from twisting while curling. The cord alone is frustrating enough that I’m knocking off an entire star—it simply doesn’t function well for styling. I’ve wanted a tool like this for a long time, so I was disappointed that it didn’t check all my boxes. While the curling attachments are challenging and time-consuming, I am genuinely very pleased with the blow dryer itself. If Shark could improve the cord and make the curling attachments more user-friendly, this could easily be a top-tier styling tool. Read more
