This vacuum exceeds my expectations. I'm okay with the weight, which is the trade-off for having the most powerful motor money can buy. This vacuum has amazing performance on both hardwood floors as well as carpet. Using the lift away and the attachment, it was very easy to do the stairs. The power lift away works amazing. I was able to vacuum under a king sized bed which had not been vacuumed for 10 years. I love the length of the long cord which allows me to complete a floor without having to move to a different plug which I had to do with my old vacuum. Only slight negative. Is that the length of the hose in lift away mode is only about 3 ft which means you have to carry around the tank while you use it. I think an external hose can be purchased. Read more

Oh my goodness! This vacuum is amazing!! This guy picks up everything I couldn't even see and that my Bissell Power Force Helix Turbo couldn't get! I already vacuumed with it then used this Shark Stratos. The bin was full and I only vacuumed my walk in closet!! What the heck?! I routinely clean my old vacuum but this one is insanely good! My carpet FEELS clean! Huge difference! It's pretty easy to put together and use. All the buttons/levers to change how you use it are very well labeled and pretty obvious to use. It's fairly heavy HOWEVER it's really not an issue. The wheels are so incredibly smooth and on high pile setting it glides along for you. Pushing or pulling is super easy! If you don't want to pick up the entire vacuum, you have many options to configure it if you want to vacuum corners or stairs to lighten the vacuum. You can assemble it so you only have the pole to vacuum under beds or dressers. I have the AZ3002 model for reference. It's a corded upright so no need to worry about battery life. You have 3 floor settings: thick carpet/area rug cleaning, carpet/low pile carpet cleaning, and hard floor cleaning. I tried it on each different surface in my home and it's great! Suction is out of this world!! I love that it has a white light especially on hardwood to see the difference. The light also changes colors if there's an issue that needs to be addressed. No issues have been had though. It comes with an odor cartridge that makes the floor smell awesome too! You can dial it way up for max freshness or turn it off completely if smells bother you. My dog's area near his cage where he usually hangs out seems clean as I vacuum it nearly everyday. Nope! This vacuum picked up his hair I couldn't even see, the carpet visibly is lighter in color now!! It comes with 3 attachments: crevice tool, upholstery tool and the pet multi tool. There are plenty more attachments to get which I certainly will be doing! I'm floored! If you can afford this, do it! Do the payment plans, something! It's so worth it! Read more

DuoClean Detect mode works great, It identifies and notifies you of edges as well as dirt and increases suction appropriately. Duo detect mode is also quiet on carpet until an edge or dirt is encountered. I really like how it automatically adjusts suction based on surface you are cleaning. The dual brush configuration provides fantastic results on wood and tile. It gets everything up on the first pass. Another great feature is the self cleaning brush roller. No more hair wrapping to clean out. On high traffic carpeted areas I simply change the setting to the low cut carpet mode to get maximum cleaning. The settings are conveniently located on the upper handle. Item to note: I have accidentally changed the settings occasionally because of the “touch pressure stye” buttons. Overall cleaning experience and performance is fantastic. My carpet and flooring is absolutely cleaner than what I was getting from my previous vacuum. The Shark PowerDetect is an expensive vacuum, but I think the value return is well worth the cost. I am very happy with the purchase. Read more

Good vacuum. Still better than Dyson, in my opinion. This beast is heavy tho. The roll seems a little stiff, which may be due to the weight. The tools still fall off all over the place, seems like no brand has figured out the solution to that. Improvements needed: the light turns off when you pull the wand off. It would be great if it would stay on so you can still see when in dark corners and hallways. I have to fight with the dust cup to put it back on. It just doesnt seem to align well. Or engage properly. My previous sharks didnt have this problem. Maybe mine is flawed. Speaking of dust cup, there is a plastic lip that partially surrounds the dust cup. When you are winding the cord back up when the dust cup is not in place, the cord slips into the area normally occupied by the dust cup. It gets caught up on this little lip of plastic. Putting the cup back on can be even harder than normal if youre not paying attention. Pretty minor one, but has gotten me a couple times now. Shark is still my go-to brand. This particular model didnt seem particularly different than their other higher tier models I've bought in the past. The suction is stronger though, which is the point. Overall a good vacuum, but I did get spoiled by my cordless stick version when it comes to the weight and ease of movement. But that broke 6 mos after purchase (different brand), so here I am back to a standard vacuum. Read more
