My alarms take a beating. Can't see squat without my glasses and the alarm ofter get knocked off the night stand when I'm groping in the dark to see the time. Not to mention knocked off when smacking the alarm in the morning. Since adding a CPAP, my nightstand is further away and so is the clock. Lots of hit to the floor, and a few thanks to the cats. No surprise after about 6-8 years, it died. But I was in heaven when I came across the exact same Sharp alarm! Black instead of silver but so what. SO nice to be able to plug it in and not have to spend an hour trying to understand directions. Has the battery backup - no lost of setting when the power goes out. (LIke it did at about 1 am last night.) Simple and easy. Dual alarms, so no resetting every other day. My perfect alarm!! Read more

We bought this Sharp digital clock to replace an older version that finally fizzled out. It's a pretty basic clock - tells time and has a couple of alarm options - but it definitely fits our need. Remember the old days when you had a digital time display on the front of a cable TV box in your living room/bedroom? When we "cut the cable cord" a few years ago we found ourselves in a bit of withdrawal over not having that time display. Sure, you can pick up your phone to check the time (or check a smart watch, etc.), but just having the constant display was something we'd really become accustomed to. Our solution was to buy a couple of these small digital clocks and place them where the cable boxes used to sit. Problem solved! Glance at the entertainment center, see the time, easy peasy! The display is large enough to read from across the room, but not so big/bright that it's a distraction from sleeping. This clock has a battery backup option, which is probably a nice feature if you're using the alarm function, but we just plug it in and didn't install batteries. Definitely recommend! Read more

I wanted a small, simple, not too bright alarm clock for the nightstand. This one works well and was inexpensive. The clock is accurate and though I'd like to control dimness and make it a little dimmer at least the green display is softer than red or blue. I don't use but did test the alarm function and it seems adequate. Overall, a decent, compact bedside clock Read more

I don't undertand the poor ratings, as I've used the Sharp brand for decades. I've had this particular model clock in different rooms for several years, in both red & green display and no problems. Its basic functions work well and are simple to operate. I just picked up a couple more for backup or gifts, and the price is right. Thank you!! Read more

I purchased both a red and a green along with several other clocks to compare. These clocks are good, basic clocks at a good price point. (I consider them an excellent price point when on sale). I'm not using them as an alarm clock but I purchased to evaluate as a bookshelf clock. The red clock is a good, basic clock. There really isn't anything to say about it, it meets all the expectations. Not too bright, not too dim. Does what is expected with no frills. The green clock is actually my favorite of all the clocks I purchased. It has the older green LED color tone, which is more on the yellow side, which I like. The LEDs are on the dim side, and there is some shading in the segments. It is not readable in direct sunlight, is okay in the day, but very good at night. As someone who likes a dark bedroom the dimmer green LEDs on this clock are nice. The green variation didn't work out in the livingroom bookshelf case due to the dimness in direct sunlight, but as a bedroom clock I think it's excellent. These are on the lighter side, I was worried they'd be pulled around by their cord but that only seems to be an issue on high-gloss surfaces. Also the PM indicator is on the lower right, not the upper left like other clocks. Not a major issue, but one that might be annoying if you're used to the alarm indicator being there. It is on the smaller side, good for a bedside table but a bit small for across the room reads. I did not test the alarm/snooze features. Read more

Immediately, when I plugged it in, PART OF the display lit up —— only part of the dis-play. Some of the segments NEVER LIFTH AND ARE COMPLETLEY DARK. You can se only parts, like half of the numbers. Therefore, you cannot read the display. Nothing like a digital clock with only part of the display showing. , so that it’s not possi-ble to read the display to tell what it wants to display. Fatally defective right out off the box. I had purchased another Sharp, Model SPC1225 - Display is OK, but W AY TOO LOUD ! ! ! Trying to find a simple to use clock with bid display and not too loud alalrm is a big challenge here. I will call the Sharp U.S. Distributor number to see whether or not they are able to offer any suggesteions. Thy seem to advertise that LOUD is best, but not good for anyone’s heart. Read more

Really nice little alarm clock with vivid red numbers. It is very easy to set and use and is just the right size and seems to be quality. Shipment was very fast and the price was right. Read more

The LED's are nice and bright but it has very samall buttons that are very close to each other which makse it very difficult to change the time and alarm times. Conclusion: Its cheap, it works but the the buttons are too small and were cheapy made and probably will be the first thing that fails. Read more
