The first clock I purchased from Amazon started having the digital display burning out after only a couple of years. I decided to buy a name brand in the hopes that it would last longer! I need a clock in my craft room to keep track of time and this one has been great. The display is large and bright enough that I can see it across the room. Perfectly great simple clock for our living room. Love the big numbers and simple design. The nice green light is not obnoxious and I can still clearly see the time across the room from our kitchen even. We don’t use the alarm feature. Wish it had a Daylight Saving time mode so we wouldn’t need to change the time twice a year, but that’s a minor quibble. Read more

After our 17-year-old clock (a Sharp) was damaged I found this one. We like it better b/c the numbers are larger (1.8") and you can make them dimmer or brighter, and the top swivels on the base about 90 deg. We did not want a clock radio or an automatic clock. We did not want a clock you need an app to operate or a clock that you need to charge. We just want a clock to see the time of night or day. It does have a 9V battery (not included) to keep it working during a power outage. It has an alarm we will never use. It is very easy to set the time. It's just perfect for us and we would recommend if your needs are similar. Read more

This was just what I was looking for, an electric clock with big numbers to see across the room. I especially like that the numbers can be dimmed. They don't provide a bright glow, but only show the time when I turn over in bed, without lighting up the room. A good purchase. Read more

I love the size and brightness of the display but the battery backup does not work on my clock. I didn't buy this for the alarm or the backup feature, so that isn't an issue for me. The plug for the 9 volt battery was right in the middle of the battery compartment and once I plugged the battery in, it wouldn't fit in the compartment. I was able to pull the wire up enough to get the battery in but when the battery is plugged in the clock doesn't show up. It only shows up if the battery is just touching the top edge of the plug.
