It's easy to clean because it is metal inside and because there is no glass platter. The door closes firmly with a reassuring "click". If the door is opened during operation, you have to re-input the cook time, but so what? There are more powerful microwaves for much cheaper, but half the time, those units are either Dead On Arrival, or they crap out within months. This thing seems well engineered and seems worth the extra money. We are totally happy with it. Read more

It has a handle, which I like better than a button. It is spacious inside, with no turntable. Its interior is mostly stainless steel, with a smooth plastic bottom that's easy to clean. Even though the wattage is less than my old Frigidaire, it heats much more quickly. The presets are easy to use and so is the insert-your-own time. The outside is nice stainless. Considering the space inside, it's not too big on the outside. It's quiet, and even quieter since we turned off the beeper. The window and internal light make it easy to see what's happening inside. I got tired of microwaves crapping out after five years so I hope this commercial model lasts longer. I absolutely love it. Read more

Excellent product. This is great because the microwaver thingy rotates up inside the top, so you don't have to have a rotating table like in home microwaves with the microwaver thingy stuck in one position up inside the top. Food is uniformly heated and at 1000 watts it cooks fast. We had these where I worked, a university hospital, and I learned to appreciate how they stand out as "good as it gets" as far as microwaves go. You squeeze the handle to unlock and open the door. Don't have to press something with your right hand and pull the handle with your left. Easy and fast to use. Easy to clean flat surfaces inside. Read more

We needed to replace a Heavy duty Amana unit that was well made in the early 1990s and the klystron tube was no longer in stock anywhere. We searched the web, read reviews, and talked to appliance repair folks selecting this model for its expected durability, good cavity size, and the lack of a turntable. From everything we have learned most microwaves are designed for planned obsolescence, they quit working in 2 years because of door switch, door hinge, door latch or control button failures. There are a few rated as commercial grade that cost from $400-1000, and a few more in the $1000-2000 range, so we concentrated our search on commercial quality devices. Our earlier 1970-1990 microwaves were of the cheaper variety, and we regretted buying them because of their poor durability, and it seemed wasteful to throw out an appliance because one thing was either not repairable, or cost more to repair than a new unit. Also we have a large assortment rectangular pyrex and other cookware from our previous microwave that we didn't want to replace. The turn tables of most microwaves are 10β, too small for our needs. Yes, we need to turn our cookware 90* or 180* half way through cooking for even heating, but thats no big deal. The stainless interior is an upgrade for us over a baked enamel over metal surface that lasted 30 years. So far it cleans up easily. The hinge appears strong and serviceable, but the door latches are plastic. Iβm not certain if they will withstand constant use and getting the door slammed closed by children and impatient adults. Numerous reviews have commented favorably on the durability of this unit in lunchroom and small restaurant venues, and we are counting on those to hold true for us. Weβve had it around two months now and like it very much. It is loud while cooking, similar to our old Amana, but we hardly ever cook things longer than 6-10 minutes so itβs no big inconvenience. We have owned this microwave for several months now, and it is excellent. Just one caution. If you like to play with partial power settings - to have it run on 50% power for a certain dish or recipe, for example - then this is not the model you want. Or if you want to cook in separate stages at different power settings. The R-21LVF does not offer cooking with partial power. You should look for model R-21LTF. Fortunately we are happy with cooking at full power all the time. There is one fault with the product: we are supposed to have a choice of 2 ringtones that mark the end of cooking, but there is no 2nd choice, so we are stuck with the default ringtone. It would be nice to have a choice, but the default ringtone is o.k. The bottom line is that this is an excellent product and we would buy it again. Read more

I hope I donβt jinx myself, but this microwave one of my best purchases. Got it for $243 about half a decade ago. Was discounted due to a dent on the metal back cover, which was easily fixed. Used it almost every single day. Heats up food very fast. I sometimes use it to boil water quickly. Very easy to clean. The build seems to hold up well, no rust on the stainless steel. Never had a problem with it. I think this microwave will last for many more years. Read more
