Allergies, dust and dropping humidity caused by our furnace was the main reasons to look into devices with both purifying and humidifying function. After couple of weeks of research, we decided to go with Sharp KCP70U for large homes and I have to say, we love it! It was surely an investment ($500 range) compare to other (cheaper) products, but nothing offered complex autonomous functions as this product. Delivery was much faster than expected. Product is relatively large, but very slick and design very appealing. It contains massive HEPA, carbon filter and water trey with filter. Assembly was easy (to remove plastic bags from filters) and we were ready to go. Wifi function is great, however setting that up was a bit of a challenge, however we just needed to follow instructions step by step. We were able to set up a schedule based on our schedule so we don’t waste energy when we are not at home. On auto mode with humidifying it takes about 5-7W. Only disappointment was its non compatibility with Alexa. Maybe in the future. On auto setting or sleep setting it’s very quiet. We barely notice it. It’s a pity we can’t set humidity to any level, it does that automatically, however we don’t need to think about humidity dropping under certain level, which is great. We would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a severe allergy. In combination with robotic vacuums, we don’t need to worry with excessive dust, pm2.5 particles and odor in our house. The unit was very cumbersome to setup via Wi-Fi but eventually got it and it’s nice to monitor the air quality and humidity. The down sides are you cannot adjust up the humidity but just monitor, not a good thing. Also the water reservoir needs constantly monitored 2X daily to keep humidity constant. I use purified water from my fridge so the paper filter is not so stained during cleaning/flushing. The water reservoir is very tiny and constantly needs filled on the lowest settings. Sadly, it doesn't do much for humidity other than record the levels while we have it on. Filling up the water tray lasts a week while with our previous humidifier, it went through 1/2 gallon a night and was great. With this, barely any water gets released so the humidifier is useless for us. The graph also always shows we have no dust, odor, etc ever. I know that's definitely not correct. Honestly can't tell if it's doing anything useful but I can definitely say my allergies and dryness have significantly increased since using this to replace our old one. Not impressed Read more

I purchased this air purifier + Humidifier from Amazon US and it was shipped fairly quickly and it arrived quickly too, considering that it was shipped to the Middle East. I started unpacking it and setting it up per the instructions and the first issue I ran into was that you cannot download the Sharp Air app for Android from my country. In order to use the full features of this device, such as daily scheduleing, you need the app. So, I contacted the Sharp US support and they told me this model is designed for USA only. They replied within 24 hours and they were very friendly. So, I had another follow up question a couple of days later regarding the humidification function and they also replied in a friendly manner within 24 hours. Few days later, we had a nasty sand storm in our area and the Sharp air purifier was showing 85 on its little display for PM2.5, which is very high for an indoor area. I had the purifier set on the Auto fan speed at that time and I expected it to ramp up its fan speed to clean the air in the room, since it was set on auto, at least that's what my other Dyson air purifier was doing which was in the same room. I have two air purifiers in this room because it is quite large, about 1000 square feet. So, the auto function on the Sharp air purifier was not working as expected. If you want an air purifier first and a humidifier as an added bonus this is the machine for you. However, if you want an equal split (or anything remotely able to add humidity to a large area) keep on looking. My home smells great, but after 8 hours of operation the humidity level in the room didn't raise at all. I'm super disappointed! Read more
