I have a percussion massager that was given to me as a gift. It has lots of buttons and attachments, and to be honest it just seems overwhelmingly complicated, so I have never used it. This massage gun seemed much less overwhelming, so I decided to give it a try and I really like it. It comes with 4 attachments: Round, Flat, Fork & Cone. It comes with a small pamphlet with a quick explanation of each attachment and it’s use. It’s nicely illustrated which takes the guesswork out of trying to decide which attachment is best for my needs. The attachments are easy to change and twist into place easily as well. Once in place, all I have to do is press the button on the back of the gun and I’m ready to go. It starts out on the lowest of 6 settings. To increase the speed, I simply press the button to increase to the next speed until I reach the one I want. If I just want to turn it off, I can either cycle through to off, or I can just press and hold until it shuts off. This massager is very simple to use, and we have already used it several times. Nothing overwhelming or difficult to figure out. It also comes with a storage pouch for when it isn’t in use. It has ample room for the gun, attachments, charging cable and the pamphlet and small enough to store anywhere or take with you on the go. If you are looking for a percussion massager with lots of different attachments with every setting under the sun, this Sharper Image PowerBoost Core Mini probably isn’t for you. If you want one that’s uncomplicated and easy to use right out of the box, then you will really like it. I personally really like this massage gun. Read more
I get regular massages for aches and pains, but was looking for something I could use at home in between. This deep tissue massage gun has been good for those times, though obviously I don't know entirely what I'm doing the way a massage therapist does (in fact, I'm going to ask mine for tips on what to target with it next time I see her). Right out of the box, it's very easy to use and I was honestly impressed by the value. It comes in a sleek, sturdy carrying case which is a huge plus for keeping everything organized. Inside, you’ll find the massager itself, a USB charging cable, and a variety of specialized attachment heads—including the classic ball head for large muscles, the fork for your spine/neck, and a flat head for general use. As far as the specs go, this massage gun features 30 adjustable speed levels, allowing you to transition from a gentle wake-up massage to a serious, high-intensity deep-tissue session. The LCD touch screen is really intuitive, clearly showing your speed setting and remaining battery life. The battery life seems to be long-lasting; I fully charged it before I used it the first time and haven't had to recharge yet. The gun is fairly quiet when running, as well. The unit has a bit of weight to it to help with the pressure, and of course when it's in use there are the vibrations. I find when I'm using it on my shoulder, my other arm gets a little tired, so I'm thinking of asking my husband to help out with that from now on. Everything else it's perfectly easy to use on myself, and overall I'm happy with it. Read more
The media could not be loaded. I am incredibly impressed with this massage gun, it has so many intelligent design features that just makes it a pleasure to use. The controls are intuitive to operate. It requires a little bit of hand strength to get the different massage heads screwed all the way in, but not an undue amount and it has a flashing light sequence to tell you if you haven’t managed it correctly, which is great. I haven’t tried running the battery all the way down, but it says that it can run for three hours, and I believe it. I started testing it as soon as I pulled it out of the box because I happen to have been dealing with significant back pain and muscle spasms after traveling, and even without charging it first, I ran it for something like 40 minutes on a variety of settings, and the battery wasn’t even half dead yet after that (which I could tell, because it has the lights that flash once you plug it in to tell you the battery level). It’s also very effective at believing general soreness, but also with targeting specific muscle spasms to get them to release. All of the heads are good for the things indicated on the insert, and it goes from intense at the low setting, to out-of-this-world at the highest setting. I also like that it automatically increases the intensity to correspond if you are putting more pressure, so you don’t necessarily have to cycle to a higher setting to get a more intense vibration/percussion. The only thing that I would change is the storage bag, which is very well-made but could stand to be a little bit bigger; I’m able to fit the massage gun and all of the attachment heads into it, but just barely. This is worth every penny and I intend to purchase one as a gift for a loved one who has a chronic pain condition, as I think it will be amazing for them. Read more
