This is a synthetic-bristle brush with soft tapered fibers (which seem most likely to be nylon, as water isn’t absorbed into the bristles, and they dry quickly as a result). The color pattern on the bristles is lovely. It looks very natural. The handle is solid wood, a pleasant size and shape in the hand. It’s 1.25” thick at the base and 4.25” tall from the bottom of the handle to the top of the bristles. I was just about to say that the bristles have all stayed in, with none “shedding,” when I found one loose bristle, which had come out. But with several uses, all the other bristles have stayed firmly attached. The brush carries water readily, like a toothbrush, which also is typically a nylon-bristled brush. It works up a fine lather from a shave bar. The softness and shape of the brush are good for transferring the lather in an even layer onto the face. The title and description of this item (“Badger Hair Synthetic”) were unclear as to whether the bristles were made of badger fur or a synthetic fiber (nylon) or a blend of the two, so I was relieved upon receiving the brush that it doesn’t appear to have genuine badger hair at all. While the listing says "Badger Hair", it's just referring to the looks I believe. This is a fully synthetic shave brush. Appear to be nylon bristles. While I have a real badger hair brush, I was looking for something with stiffer bristles. This brush fits the bill. The bristles are stiff but the tips are very soft. So if you need something small for lining up your beard, this works perfectly for small areas. Lathers as well as my real badger brush without getting too soft. Price is reasonable for the what the product offers. Read more
