I like that the unit extension fits into the window without having to screw into my window frame as I have seen with other makers. Also, the unit runs very well. Very nice fan, that itself cools a room. The A/C part is quite good, easily cools 15'x12' bedroom that has 3 windows. I am very pleased. In addition, the unit, due to the carrier, had broken a caster wheel in handling the unit. SHINCO simply asked for a photo of the damaged caster etc. and via email arranged for a FED EX delivery of a new caster. I am super pleased with the unit and SHINCO's customer service. I chose the right unit for a reasonable price. Addendum: I see like happened to me others noted the exhaust hose came off or loose. I found the solution as once I clicked in the exhaust hose on the unit, I then twisted the entire exhaust hose within its plastic cap prior to placing it in the window, it tightened it and no further issue of it coming loose. Also, as far as placing the exhaust unit in the window, once clicked in the 'window sealing plate' it wasn't firmly staying in place; I noticed the two small screw holes in the window attachment given (one small screw came in the pkg) and once I expanded the plastic sealing plate into my window I used an awl (ice pick) to punction a dent into the 'window sealing plate, where I then screwed in screws (used a couple drywall screws). My unit is firmly in place. One more thing: I keep my drain hose connected at all times as I see the unit produced a copious amount of water either with A/C or 'Dry' (Humidifier). (I live next to an ocean bay, with heavy humidity this year) It seems the 'DRY' mode is really a low A/C set at 62 and stays automatically on a low fan. I would buy again, and I did so recently at 8000BTU for another room. Amazed how much water is produced, so must keep a watchful eye or use more than a 1 gallon container for an 8 hr. period with the present weather. Read more

We’ve had this portable AC for over a year now, and it’s been a great solution for our basement, which doesn’t have a window—just a large sliding door and another exit. We had a contractor install it and vent it outside (not fully finished in the photo), and it’s worked perfectly since. It has 3 modes, 3 fan speeds, and adjustable swing direction, which makes it super versatile. Keeps the whole basement nice and cool during hot summer days. Highly recommend! Read more

I have installed 2 of these in 15' x 15' rooms and they perform as expected, bringing the temperature down from 93+F to 80F in less than 20 minutes. I'm sure they could cool much lower, but us Floridians get chilly at below 80F. They suck all the humidity out of the room, which makes a huge difference. Installation will take about an hour, depending on your window opening. We had to cut some polystyrene to raise the window attachment up 3-4 inches because the plastic panel supplied is not deep enough for common sized aluminum window frames. The manufacturer should consider adding 4 inches of extra depth to the window seal kit! The unit is less noisy than the average window air conditioner. But don't expect a quiet environment, the fan alone will generate significant background noise, but they all do! The exhaust system generates significant heat, that is actually good because it proves the product is working, however you probably want to insulate it, we reused some old freezer bags wrapped around it to keep the heat in the exhaust and out of the window. This product requires some expertise and tools to install. It is not plug and play, it requires some modifications for your particular circumstances. Most home owners probably have all things necessary, those buying this for an apartment might need some assistance. Read more

This ac blows some icy air! I love it! Keeps my room (which is fairly large) nice and cool. I like that you can angle the vent higher or lower for whatever you need. There are 3 fan speeds and you can switch it between fan only, AC, or dry (to dehumidify the air). It is not really movable because you have to have it by a window in order for the exhaust hose to connect to the window. Doesnt bother me but the product video makes it look like you can just roll it around the room which you really cannot do. My only complaint is that at night, I like a fan to be blowing no matter what while I sleep. If you have it on the AC setting, when it reaches temp, the whole unit turns off instead of just continuing to blow the fan. The silence wakes me up because Im used to sleeping with fan noise. I wish I knew how to change this. Read more
