No need to screw hose attachment into window frame as some do! Runs very well!
I like that the unit extension fits into the window without having to screw into my window frame as I have seen with other makers. Also, the unit runs very well. Very nice fan, that itself cools a room. The A/C part is quite good, easily cools 15'x12' bedroom that has 3 windows. I am very pleased. In addition, the unit, due to the carrier, had broken a caster wheel in handling the unit. SHINCO simply asked for a photo of the damaged caster etc. and via email arranged for a FED EX delivery of a new caster. I am super pleased with the unit and SHINCO's customer service. I chose the right unit for a reasonable price. Addendum: I see like happened to me others noted the exhaust hose came off or loose. I found the solution as once I clicked in the exhaust hose on the unit, I then twisted the entire exhaust hose within its plastic cap prior to placing it in the window, it tightened it and no further issue of it coming loose. Also, as far as placing the exhaust unit in the window, once clicked in the 'window sealing plate' it wasn't firmly staying in place; I noticed the two small screw holes in the window attachment given (one small screw came in the pkg) and once I expanded the plastic sealing plate into my window I used an awl (ice pick) to punction a dent into the 'window sealing plate, where I then screwed in screws (used a couple drywall screws). My unit is firmly in place. One more thing: I keep my drain hose connected at all times as I see the unit produced a copious amount of water either with A/C or 'Dry' (Humidifier). (I live next to an ocean bay, with heavy humidity this year) It seems the 'DRY' mode is really a low A/C set at 62 and stays automatically on a low fan. I would buy again, and I did so recently at 8000BTU for another room. Amazed how much water is produced, so must keep a watchful eye or use more than a 1 gallon container for an 8 hr. period with the present weather. Read more
