Bought this for my daughter’s bedroom. Good price for a moveable unit. Perfect little air conditioner that cools her room quickly. Easy to put together, set up and is not horribly loud. It has been in use for a couple weeks and we have zero complaints. Emptying the water in her room was a little tricky. We found putting the unit on a box to raise it a little and then pouring the water into a bowl below works very well. This would be the case with any unit like this. I took a chance and ordered this before there were any reviews posted so I was pretty sure it was a brand new model. Other than delays in the shipping of my order I'm happy with my purchase. The 10,000 BTU model is a 2nd or 3rd unit in the main living area of my 1970's mobile home. We have 2 window units that just can't keep the "open plan" area of the living room & eat in kitchen (plus we like to keep our bedroom door open) cooled down once the temperature exceeds the 80's. We've had a lot of extremely hot weather already so I wanted to make sure we're prepared for a long hot summer. We've had several extremely hot days to test the new Garvee and it had no problem getting the house cooled down quickly, including the bedroom. I don't find it loud at all. My husband had it unboxed and set up to vent and drain in a few minutes. He insists on setting it up higher and having the drain hose drip into a bucket (because of an old unit of this type that we had) but the hose could be directed out the window and the unit could sit on the floor. I chose this unit because it shipped quickly and we're in the middle of the heat wave. It was less expensive than some of the other units which made me leary because I believe usually you get what you pay for. Unboxing everything looked fine all the required items were listed and included. Instruction manual is a complete waste of time obviously not translated properly and has essentially no instructions. I'm trying to shut up I realized it was no way to attach the hose to either the window or the back of the AC unit it would require additional callers that aren't included and aren't listed. So back to Amazon, I ordered the required collars I'll meet you find the hose would not fit those either. In fact I don't see how the hose can fit in the back of the unit it's just too large. So now I've invested $30 in the collers The proper hose will be another $30 or so. Oh, and the included remote doesn't work, I'd be surprised if it ever did, it felt like pressing the buttons would crush the remote. I would advise to move on from this one. In the interest of saving a couple of days I've had to spend an extra $60 and I'm still not sure if that's will even work if it doesn't I'll have to return the AC unit, the callers, AND the new hose! Cools very quickly. We bought it because our central air doesn’t cool our second story very well. Set up was very easy and our bedroom was cool within minutes! You do need to make sure you are keeping an eye on the water level in the unit regularly and the a/c will start beeping and eventually giving an E4 error when it is full. There is a drain plug and you can attach the hose to it to have the water flow out as it fills up. 100% recommend this unit and may buy another unit to have as a backup for emergency if our central air has an issue. The cooler arrived very worse for wear. It has a hole in the back where something bent the little fins. The machine has a missing plastic piece on the corner so the copper tubing is visible. Both vents are broken. The top is dented. Despite all that, it works perfectly. Read more
