I've been interested in trying organic matcha, and I got a 10g sample. The sample package had no way to reseal the package, so it was use it all or put the extra in an airtight container. I've never actually consumed green tea leaves so can't compare it, but I made a tea from it and liked the taste. It wasn't bitter even though I had to wait for the water to cool enough for me to drink it (so a steeping of about 20 minutes). It'd probably taste fine in foods, too. Read more
It says, "Cooking Matcha" but I've only used it for smoothies. It has a nice green taste and is not bitter. Read more
Such a small sample but enough for me to never order again. It is very bitter and foul smelling. It is hard to cut the bitterness. Price is outrageous. Look elsewhere for your matcha! Read more
The media could not be loaded. This is the first time I have used matcha powder, so, not knowing what to do with it I googled some instructions and followed them. Basically I first sifted about a teaspoon of powder in a bowl using a small whisk, then added boiling water, which I whisked, and drank it. I love green tea and was a little surprised that the concoction I had thus created wasn't more intense, nor did it give me a caffeine rush (in fact, I think I dozed off a bit on the couch while drinking it). It does have an interesting aftertaste which I am enjoying as I type this. I don't have a matcha whisk (although strange as it seems, I've wanted one for years, but didn't know what they are called or where to find one). The more I think about it, I've had matcha served to me in a bowl prepared using a matcha whisk when I stayed at a B&B in Hagi (Japan) nearly 30 years ago, and have wanted one of those whisks to use with the Hagi ware I brought back from there. On that same trip I visited a friend in Shizuoka, where this matcha powder is made apparently, and have fond memories of that place. Read more

I have never had matcha, and decided to give this sample pack a try, because why not. This is culinary grade, so not the best, but some searching around told me I could make a Matcha Latte with this stuff and it should be okay. So I followed instructions I had found: Mix 1 1/2 tsp Matcha and1 Tbsp. hot water, add honey/sugar to taste, then add 3/4 cup hot milk and froth it up. Once I had it prepared I decided to "taste" it with my nose first, and oh my goodness the smell, to me it smelt very fishy. I had my son smell it and he said "that smells weird". Now like I said I have never had Matcha, so maybe it usually smells like that, but I just couldn't bring myself to drink any of it. Read more
I have heard a lot about this particular Matcha brand “Shizuoka's Finest Organic Cooking Matcha - JAS Certified, Culinary Grade, No-additives, Authentic Japanese Origin, 100% Pure matcha powder, 10 gram sample bag (10 gram sample)”. I decided to try it and ordered the sample pack. Wow! This matcha powder designed for cooking created one of the best-tasting Matcha Latte I made. I warmed an 8 oz organic grass-fed cow’s milk, added the sifted powder, used my handheld frother, and voila! A delicious healthy drink! I love the taste and how easily this dissolves in warm milk. I will be buying this in bulk and stock up my pantry. I can highly recommend you try this one out if you love green and matcha tea. Read more

I mainly make matcha cookies using Culinary Grade matcha using the Shizuoka's Finest Organic Cooking Matcha was a great additional to my baking. Although at 3oz the matcha is slightly on the pricier side, but the matcha flavor comes out well when used. The matcha does have a darker green color that you'd expect from matcha. While the matcha itself was usable and alright, at the price point there are better options for matcha out there, but this one is decent for what it provides. Read more
