1st time actually attempting to do an actual dental cleaning on my 3yr pitbull besides routine dental brushing. It's Not loud like people make it seem. It took me a while to figure it wasn't defective. It comes fully charged, it powers on, light turns but that's it after selecting your mode Wth? I wanted to see how fast, how loud but nothing was happening. Kept reading instructions. Let it sit in charger as instructed, even when it was charged lol but it's actually a safety feature. It won't work until it's up against the "tooth" I had to watch a video. Ppl have tested on the little wrench provided. Definitely works! Very easy to use after you know how to use it. I ordered this dental cleaner for my +18 year old dog. I am disappointed it didn’t clean his teeth as I hoped. Since he was a puppy, my dog HATED teeth brushing. He hated chew toys for teeth cleaning and Greenies. He hated teeth swabs and tartar control liquid in his water. So, about every 2 years, I took him to the vet for a dental cleaning. At his last visit, at +16 years old, the vet said my dog’s age meant he was too high risk to put under again. I ordered this tool to clean his teeth without anesthesia. The ultrasonic dental cleaner, heads, and dental tartar scraper are well made. Just know the cleaner wont work until it’s charged for 3-hours, turned on, and is in direct contact with a tooth (the light is some kind of sensor). I tested it on my teeth and it worked great, but I have very little tartar. I wrapped my dog in a towel to control his paws. It barely made a dent in my dog’s tartar, but he has a lot of tartar. So, it works for light tartar but not severe. Wish someone would invent a gel that softened tartar, like a chemical reaction to tartar, so it was easier to scrape off rather then traumatize the dog.
