For the cost, these rock. I got these mainly for sleep use. They are small enough to fit very comfortably in the ear, and can get loud enough as well... much louder than I anticipated. COMFORT FOR SIDE SLEEPING > For side sleeping (that is, with one ear on your pillow), the Ururtm Sleeping earbuds are much more comfortable than standard earbuds (such as my favorite Panasonic ErgoFit In-Ear Earbuds). > Even so, the “pillow-side” Ururtm earbud (for whichever ear I have to the pillow) is uncomfortable to me. For you, comfort may depend on your pillow, the shape of your ear, and your sensitivity. You may have no problem. UPDATE -- After several months of nightly use, I can now comfortably sleep with a Ururtm earbud in my pillow-side ear (and the other earbud it my other ear). COMFORT FOR BACK SLEEPING OR GENERAL USAGE > If you aren't used to wearing earbuds for 6--8 hours at a time, you may have difficulty adjusting to wearing sleeping earbuds all night. It may take several weeks to "toughen" up your ear canal so that you can tolerate any earbuds for long periods of wear. > The key to general earbud comfort is to use the smallest cushion which fits your ear canal. High quality earbuds come with several sizes, and often several types, of cushions. To minimize size, the cushion is an integral part of Ururtm Sleeping earbuds (and of a slightly different design than cushions used in standard earbuds), and therefore the cushion is not interchangeable or replaceable. > The cushion of Ururtm Sleeping earbuds is medium-small, but not small enough for children. Indeed, the diameter of the body of the earbud is large, and therefore unlikely to be comfortable for children. > On the other hand, the small cushions also mean that the earbuds do not fit as tightly in average size or larger size ear canals. For most users, the earbuds would probably spontaneously fall out of your ear occasionally with moderate activity -- but that shouldn't be a problem if the earbuds are only used for sleeping. > The Ururtm Sleeping earbuds are usable for general use, but it would be better to only use them for sleeping, and use a different brand/model for general use. NOISE ISOLATION > The noise isolation is passive, not active, that is, it works only as a physical barrier. My impression is that the isolation is not as good as my Panasonic earbuds, which is at least partially because the cushion is a little small for me. (To some degree, the tighter the fit, the better the noise isolation). > Therefore the Ururtm Sleeping earbuds are probably not the best choice for air travel. For air travel (and similar situations) I would choose earbuds with ACTIVE noise cancellation (which should cost $50-$250). But, be careful, most earbuds which promise noise cancellation (including some very expensive earbuds), actually provide only passive noise isolation, or add "white noise", not actual active noise cancellation. Note that active noise cancellation is effective only against low-tone constant or repetitive noise (like aircraft or car engines), NOT crying babies, or someone else's annoying music. Unfortunately, my "travel" earbuds are no longer available on Amzn, so there is no point in giving you the brand and model number. OTHER COMMENTS > The sound quality is good. > The Ururtm Sleeping earbuds do have a microphone (for use with cell phones), but work fine with my simple MP3 player. > Earwax can clog the tiny speakers -- which may be a serious problem for people with copious earwax. Keep your ears clean. Clean the earbuds frequently (just wipe with a cloth). Other larger, particularly expensive, earbuds often have special systems (even removable, cleanable, replaceable screens) to deal with earwax -- but the ultra-compact design of the Ururtm earbuds exacerbates the earwax problem. > Because the Ururtm earbuds are so tiny, they can be jammed in your ear at an angle. In that case, the sound is muffled, and the earbuds will probably cause more irritation after a few hours. So, you should carefully insert the earbuds straight into your ear. MY USE > I use only the earbud for my “non-pillow ear”, which means that I have to change earbuds during the night, when I turn over – which of course is what I wanted to avoid when I purchased sleeping earbuds. But, (after several months using the Ururtm earbuds) if I forget and change sides without changing earbuds (and therefore the earbud is in my pillow-side ear), at least I don’t wake up with a sore ear anymore. > Actually, I have recurrent pain from an injury which keeps me awake at night. I've found that listening to old audiobooks which I like (I suggest Tom Bodett's "American Odyssey" -- because Bodett's voice could put a grizzly to sleep) is just enough distraction to take my mind off the pain. I bought these for the second time because my first set lasted a decently long time. This second set didn't even last two months. Everytime I listen to anything I hear this horrible buzzing feedback that over shadows whatever I'm listening to. I wish I could return them because these are horrible. They are fairly comfortable to wear while laying down but as for sound quality and durability these earbuds are crap. Send your money on something better. Read more

I'll be honest, I picked these up figuring I was getting a run-of-the-mill Ross discount set of headphones. These have exceeded my expectations! Quite small, so the fit is a little different than you might be used to, but the big difference is that because they are small they can fit into your ear in a way that takes all the pressure off if you are resting your ear on a pillow. They block out noise fairly effectively even if you don't have anything playing, and I've found the sound quality to be pretty good for both music and tv shows. Worth the (low) price, for me! I purchased these in January, and have used them once or twice a week at most. They've been well taken care of, so there's no chance this product fail is my fault. Last month the left earbud stopped working altogether. Not happy about it, but the one against my pillow when lying on my side usually falls out anyway. I bought these ear buds because I wanted this style. The style is very comfortable. The problem is the sound quality was not very loud. You could hear but you had to turn it all the way up. The other problem is that they didn't last very long. They are already broken. The sound went out in one of the buds. So they lasted months of use, not even a year if use.
