I purchased this to do movies with an iPhone and I wanted a smooth fluid head for panning. The SmallRig fits the bill perfectly. It is very well made with every convenience feature (level, carbon fiber for light weight, intuitive controls for panning, vertical movement, etc.). Because of its numerous features and build quality this tripod is a bargain for the price. Read more

Everything is great about this, except one key feature is missing. It honestly concerns me that expensive cameras sit on top of this, but the legs don’t lock on both sides. Just like I don’t want the legs of the tripod to start spreading out on their own (for one reason or another), I wish the legs locked the other way too. If you make any adjustments or pick up the tripod, the leg(s) could get hit or accidentally moved inward, potentially throwing the tripod off balance. Expensive cameras usually sit on top of tripods, and I’ve accidentally stubbed my toe on the leg before… unintentionally pushing it in… and almost knocking over the trippod… with a camera on it. Talk about heart attack. Other than that, it’s great! The only other add-on that would be nice would be a quick switch option for portrait mode. They have that in another head (or heads) already. Again, it's one of the other smallrig tripod i have. Travel size , light weight due to it being carbon fiber although why is the video head smaller than the compact version of this? I like the videohead on the other one better than this. Either or, it's a good tripod Read more

Bought this for a few trips, wanted light weight, decent quality, and solid stance for windy conditions. This tripod out of the box was solid, honestly i was impressed for the price. The carbon fiber is nicely finished and seems of high quality. Seems sturdy and of high quality. Well thought out pieces and how it would be used, the mounting screw has a flip up that makes it easy to tighten without a tool, however they included an Allen key that has a strong magnet so it doesn’t dislodge without wanting to take it out, the head sits on a round disk that is able to store different size screw mounts conveniently. I have two other tripods and they were around or slightly less than this one but this one seems the best built and most well thought out. I recommend this tripod for travel, it’s held up well in rain, the beach and general use. See pics. Read more

I bought this tripod as it was compatible for my setup for wildlife photography. It is sturdy, light, and easy to setup. I am able to use it in conjunction with a gimbal for my super telephoto lens and my mirrorless camera. I would recommend this product for those who are looking for a beginner tripod for a good value. This is not compatible with the SmallRig A6700 HandGrip. The tilt is in the wrong direction. Very disappointed. Read more

We used this to film some training videos. It was perfect. It was really sturdy and easy to adjust. It's super light which is nice because the camera isn't once everything is connected. The picture was super smooth because it really held steady. I would absolutely buy this again. Read more
