Smallrig it’s one of my favorite accessory brands for camera accessories. This will sound a little bit like a fanboy love letter, but the product is absolutely incredible. I’ve tested three or four other selfie stick tripods, and this is by far the best one. The versatility of this tripod is unmatched. Its slightly larger size gives it an advantage and maybe a slight disadvantage which I’ll talk about in a second. Being a little bit bigger than the other selfies stick tripods I’ve tested it, it’s sturdier. The tripod can open a little wider on the floor or table and then the smaller ones can making it sturdier on the surface as you mount your camera or phone to it. The ball head is very strong, and I had zero issues with my camera, slipping at all while attached to it. Where this selfie stick completely destroys, the other competition is the included wireless remote function. Having the ability to control shutter and recording from the handle seems like a no-brainer, especially when your device is a few feet away from you. This does increase the cost of the product overall, but once you’ve used a selfie stick with shutter controls, you’ll never want to use one without it. Smallrig is notorious for build quality and materials, and this tripod definitely does not disappoint. If you’ve been looking for a stable and durable selfie stick/tripod, the search might be over. Highly recommended. Read more

TL;DR: Lightweight, compact, and thoughtfully engineered. Perfect for travel and everyday use, just not meant for heavy gear. Review: This tripod is excellent. Compact enough to fit easily in a backpack or diaper bag, yet incredibly functional. The engineering is clearly intentional — the bottom-triggered unlatch cleanly deploys the tripod feet, and the telescoping body works well as both a selfie stick and a standing tripod. It strikes a great balance: the minimalism of a monopod with the added stability of a tripod. The Bluetooth remote connects quickly, works reliably, magnetically stows away, and charges via USB-C. The included phone clamp is solid, and the universal 1/4" threaded mount makes it very versatile. I used this on Christmas Morning to record our kiddos receiving their presents so it was set up at their height but could go a couple at least another 12"-18" above that. Total working height of 59" seems correct. Set expectations correctly: this is not a heavy-duty tripod for large cameras. But for lightweight, compact, travel, and everyday content capture, it’s a killer option. SmallRig delivers exactly what you’d expect here. Read more

The media could not be loaded. After about two weeks of waiting, I finally received this selfie stick/tripod. It feels very light and compact, making it easy to carry while traveling. It can be used as a handheld selfie stick and also converts into a tripod, which is convenient for group photos or taking selfies from a distance. Overall, it’s a very practical tool to have on the go. The remote control is very small and fits neatly into the handle of the stick, held in place by a magnet. It stays in place well and is easy to remove when using the stick as a tripod. However, I still wish there were an additional locking mechanism to secure it more firmly. This would help prevent it from getting lost, especially when the user’s attention is focused on sightseeing. Once paired with my phone, the remote worked as it should. This is the first selfie stick I’ve owned, so I don’t have a basis for comparison. SmallRig is a brand name, and I believe its products are expected to carry the quality associated with that name. I’m giving this product five stars based on the functionality of the stick/tripod, though with some reservations. The issue is not with the product itself, but with the instructions. First, the printed text is extremely small—many people would likely need a magnifying glass to read it. Second, while the instructions outline the basic steps for setup and connection with different photo or video devices, they lack important details. For example, when pairing the remote with a phone or other device, there is no clear indication of whether the pairing is successful. The remote provides no visible feedback, which can be confusing for users. Read more

The media could not be loaded. The thing that I like the most about this tripod selfie stick is how versitile it is. I love how compact it is in size and that it can go from 11 inches to about 4.5 feet . The other thing that I really like about this tripod selfie stick is that it comes with a handy remote that works great and when I am done using it has it own little cutout to store it on the stick. I have used this stick on my fold 7 and my flip 7 and it has worked great on both and I really appreciate how stable the selfie stick is. The tripod stick is great for travel and I think is a good value for the price. Read more

This smallrig selfie stick / tripod works great with several of my cameras including the DJI Action 4 and 5, Osmo 360, and Pocket 3. It's very compact so easy to travel with and offers a stellar amount of options for use for a single item. It works as a tabletop tripod but also extends to use as a selfie stick. Nice component and build quality and a solid value for the price. Read more
