The media could not be loaded. I personally got this to go on a cruise ship and mount my phone to almost anything and take pictures or video without having to hold my phone. The kids enjoyed it being able to remotely control their phones and take photos of groups with the non-selfie cameras lenses on the back of the phone. Apple Watch can click the camera remotely or start a timer remotely which made it more fun. The magnets really stick to metal with confidence and the spring loaded phone gripper is solid too. It is super easy to stick to metal and use. Also very light weight. The iPhone 13 fits perfectly and it didn’t have any issue holding phones in thick cases. I bet this will last a long time. I have a few SMALLRIG items now, and I have been impressed with the build quality and functionality of all of the items so far. This one is no exception. The phone mount is well built, holds the phone very securely to the magnetic metal surface, and really is handy for mounting your phone in places you normally would not be able to. For example, next to my desk I have a steel peg board mounted on the wall. With this mount I can easily just mount the phone anywhere on the peg board and use the phone as a second monitor, or remote control. It also comes with 1/4" threaded holes to mount accessories. The magnet is easily strong enough to hold a phone and a small light or microphone. The ability to attach accessories and mount on any magnetic metal surface really makes this quite versatile and I have found myself using it for more things than I originally got this for. Read more

Love SmallRig products. Have purchased 7 other items and was excited to receive this free for evaluation. Like all the other items from SmallRig, This will be very usefull for its intended propose. A quick magnetic holder for outdoor group shots, automotive work videos, the gym or to just hold your phone to a toolbox or mechanical item while on a call, FaceTime or a just listening to music or watching an instructional video to fix something. The magnet holding the phone (with my thick case) is a little less powerful than the magnet holding the holder to the object. So I can grab the phone and the holder stays. I expect that anyone with a thinner case, or no case, the holder is going to come with the phone. Which is probably preferred. Picture shows it attached to side of Refrigerator for clarity of profile view, normally the magnet wouldn’t be visible from the front when in use. I can see using this with an action camera also as an easy way to quickly attach to flat surfaces like a bridge or road sign to capture drive by video for a vlog without having to set up clamps or a tripod.
